I grabbed Blender a few days ago and started reading a bunch of tutorials and made a simple Mech.
I know it's not great, and I was hoping to get some advice on how to improve.
Also, I know 3D models can be turned into Voxels/SHPs, but how do you go about doing that? Does the model need to be rigged and animated first?
I haven't had a chance to look through the tutorials here so I'm hoping there's something about this there. Thanks for any advice!

(I posted this here because the 3D Model section said for Finished models only)

I've never heard of that before. This is based off of a Mech from a tutorial I read. Tried to add as much of my own to it as I could. Thanks though! Very Happy

Thanks for that rigging tutorial.

That Blender templates thread you posted, I read it, sorry if I misunderstood, but that seems like a way to make a model a SHP? Can it also make it into a voxel? If not, what's the best way to go about dong that?

I did download it, but it honestly confused the life out of me.
Still really new to all this stuff.

1) Yes, that template is for SHP files.
2) To use it:

a) Open the template
b) change the view to 3D view
c) Press "Shift + F1", open your model and go to the "Objects" folder, select everything but lights and cameras.
d) Go back to the Text Editor, select the required script (object is for regular render, buildup is for buildup, shades is for shades and the last thing I don't remember) and run the script
e) Position your building so it is in the corner near the center (x=0, y=0). Scale it - 4 cells in the editor in the shape of the square is 1 ingame cell.
f) Click "render".

P.S. Don't forget to select what game is the render for.
