I have made some units to use as landnaval vessels for my mod, by copying them from the Hover MLRS, but how do you make them immune to Ion Storm?
Also, how do you edit the rules.ini using SE2K text editor?

My advice - use WordPad for inis cuz its faster, easier and more comfortable...

As for the hover things, AFAIR they're hardcoded to shut down its locomotor during an ion storm. Sorry...

What happens if they are on water when the storm hits?
Also, SE2K is more user-friendly:
You do not have to dig through a thousand lines of code for a weapon or warhead.
It is easy to create new units, not having to edit things in three different places before it accepts the unit.
You can have at your fingertips much of the data of the weapon, etc, without having to look up what each tag means in the header and footer
All in all, this ease of use very likely compensates for the lack of power compared to a text editor such as notepad.

The fight between protagonists of either side can never really stop: As Lincoln said

Wordpad ediging is WAYYY more powerful than SE2k editing. It's faster, and you can manage your own rules.ini file. I also find it way easier to use than SE2k (in that stupid small window you can't even resize!)

All editors except for checkers and AI Editor (basically Dcoder stuff) is built for NOOBS. It corrupts stuff, rearranges your files in illogical comments.

Also ever heard of the [Find] feature on wordpad/notepad?

By using it, I am admitting that I find it smarter to create units with SE2K, and I use wordpad for the difficult bits like WaterBound=yes, although I would like to use the Text Editor in SunEdit, because it is more convenient than opening a document multiple times in each program. My computer is too slow and can't even run TS #morning . As confucious said, "True knowledge is admitting the extent of your ignorance", which is why the nuclear power debate is so divorced from reality. According to Nader, man does not know about arsenic, mercury, or lead, for example, which have a higher lethality than plutonium. Man does know about these highly toxic metals, therefore Nader is wrong Wink . I should know, because I got first place in the RTASA in my state/territory, the ACT, and third place in physics Very Happy .

This isn't a philosophy discussion, get back on topic and stop posting irrelevant phrases just so you can tell us how great you are. People will most likely generate an opinion that you are a moron.

Sorry, clazzy Rolling Eyes  Embarassed . I did not know that you used this forum. Anyway, blame either Wes.Com (www.Tiberiumsun.com) or whoever put my rank down as "Thief" Confused . If you don't want me to steal, then don't call me a thief. I will just steal my own avatar.
Also, the definition of relevance depends on the person. If I made a nasty joke about, say, DvD, or Banshee, then they would not find it relevant to the humour forum, and put it in the dustbin forum. They have the power to do that. If I made a joke about X-wing of that type (as long as it wasn't rude or anything), then they would probably think that it was appropriate for the humour house, given how annoying X-wing is in T'umsun Very Happy .

What do you think my DAD'S comp is for? Lemmings? Also sorry to banshee for the misinterpretation of the thief ranking, and as I have suggested in the T'umsun forums, giving people a choice of rank for each category, or letting them specify a rank in the appropriate field. Also, I got the clazzy logo from a smiley package that my sister would rather not have me disclose. #Milti  #Onfire Ha ha.

P.S. I apologise for any lack of social skills that I have shown on these forums, as I am an autistic child of sixteen years and fifty one days, who only got through high school by seeming stupid enough not to be assumed to have learned social skills to any higher degree.

Regarding the original topic...

Would it be possible to have hover units that do not shut down in an Ion Storm by making a fake hover unit? I mean:
1. Create an amphibious vehicle like the GDI APC.
2. Give it an hva that makes it look like it hovers. (I've heard there's a unit in Allies Revenge 2 on RA2/YR that does this. I assume there's no (or almost no) difference between making hvas for TS than for RA2.)

Kinda, except that the game won't see it as hovering, so the human will have an ilusion that the unit is in one position while it's actually in the other O.o... if it really works, which I can't confirm because I never tested it... although it seems to be possible to make a vehicle like that.

Just add one single pixel underneath the unit and have the HVA as normal, because the pixel is there the actual unit will be forced to look like it's floating.
