So that's how lightning is made... My laziness made me depend on Plasma Studio, a plugin for 3dsmax, which does the same, maybe with some extra control.
You could even make it simpler by making an spline turned into an editable poly with a noise modifier and even animate said modifier. Instant electricity. _________________ "Don't beg for things; Do it yourself or you'll never get anything." QUICK_EDIT
-create a Line spline with 5 points
-set in the Rendering rollout "Enable in Renderer" and "Enable in Viewport" and give the Line a Radial Thickness of 1 (or bigger/smaller, so it's thick enough to be rendered in your desired size)
-select all points of the Line and set them to "Corner" points
-select only the 3 inner points and apply a Noise modifier with
Fractal checked
Roughness=1
Strength for X,Y,Z as you desire (play with the values)
And set animate Noise
-finally apply a blue/white texture to the line
done
The Noise modifier will make only the 3 inner points move randomly around.
You can place the start and end point to a fixed location, so it looks like an electric arc from one rod to another. _________________ SHP Artist of Twisted Insurrection: Nod buildings

tbh, i'm not that fond of them
a) they go through solid parts of the building
b) they are very chaotic, like just some random floating in midair bolts
thus they don't really fit to the building and stand out like a slapped onto anim.
c) they don't really interact with the building (no start and no end visible, nothing that emits or attracts them)
It should be visible what emits them and they should follow a bit the physics of such bolts.
Take a look at some real tesla coils and how they emit sparks/bolts (see attachment)
as you can see, 80% should be randomly going outwards ending in midair, about 20% should hit the ground or some other target.
Those ending in midair should be thinner than those hitting something.
The inner turbulences are a lot smaller in reality. The amplitude on your bolts is way too high.
impossible to see.
See attached pictures above. The sparks are coming from the coils, the do not randomly circle around them like in your case with amplitudes and waves as big as a skyscraper. _________________ SHP Artist of Twisted Insurrection: Nod buildings
