C&C Ultimate Collection Moddable?
Is the ultimate collection moddable ? I have recently got a surface pro 3 and I have tried installing my old c&c games on it but too many errors and nuisances I believe the ultimate collection could possibly run smoothly on new os maybe ? I just want to make sure if its moddable because I heard somewhere that since it runs through origin it "updates" the files constantly so I assumed that it would delete mods and edits to the rules.ini
Well yes and no.
As is none of the C&Cs on Origin can be modded, because Origin will remove anything and redownload the changed files.
If you get a cracked executable then it can be modded cause there is no more Origin in the way. _________________ Tiberian Dawn, Red Alert, Tiberian Sun ,Red Alert 2,Renegade, Command & Conquer 3,Tiberium and Tiberium Wars and Westwood related image & video archive

by a cracked executable you mean the fixed launchers I have heard some people talk about on some other modding communities? it has been such a hassle trying to install the old games that I just want to give in to the 'new' version of the games that will install properly on new windows systems. Its but a illusion EA is trying to create.
EA lost loads of Westwood stuff as well as the source codes for everything before Renegade in right after they shut down Westwood
Truth be told TFD and TUC are just lies, all those versions ever had are community patches and hex edits.
A simple comparison in a hex editor of least released retail patch exe vs TFD or TUC exe says it all as the differences are in only a few bytes, if it were a executable compiled from the source it would have far more then byte differences. _________________ Tiberian Dawn, Red Alert, Tiberian Sun ,Red Alert 2,Renegade, Command & Conquer 3,Tiberium and Tiberium Wars and Westwood related image & video archive

Ahh I see, then the only difference are the installers ... it doesn't matter I finally got RA2 and SUN to run so I'm all set thanks for the info though QUICK_EDIT
