If you mean in general, then you can only
-take the picture
-set all non-transparent pixel to the same color
-use some deformation tool to "squash" these pixel to a flat area on ground

It also helps to have the images in png format and not some ugly anti-aliased and compressed jpg.
However with 2D tools only, you can't create 100% correct shadows. It's only a simple approximation.
