This may have been asked an answered...

How does one get NPatch to work with out having the cd in the drive... As it only installs on an unmodified .exe (I use a noCD patch to avoid having to use the disk, as my disk drive does not work anymore...)

I own 2 copy's of Ra2 and 3 copy's of Yuri's revenge so this is not piracy...

Which one do I edit to stop cd check. And what do I have to set it to? Razz

Registry edits won't do a squat. You'd need to disable the CD check in the NPatch executable.

Considering very few people still use the very much unsupported NPatch and with no-CD being commonplace these days I took the liberty to provide modified NPatch executable. Specifically it's the SE #0022 version if my memory serves correct.

BTW how did you do that? I want to do that to a older version of Npatch. Namely Autumn edition... I also have a custom exe for a mod that will not let me get around the cd check...

So if your not comfortable saying here a PM would be nice. XP

Hex editing is how-to, there is the executable patcher tool anyways, alternatively you can mount a ISO.

Not sure why you wanna mess with npatch these days anyways apart from running old mods(?)

Wow, nocd would be essential to my nPatch aswell. I have nPatch extended edition, with few things changed with the executable modifier.

Any chances to get nocd on the extended version? It would be very handy, since my laptop doesnt want to read TFD dvd. I just get error message saying "cannot locate dvd-rom".
Even I just installed RA2 and YR from the same orginal disk.. Confused

I probably shouldn't say this but the mod reign of steel has a no-cd patched exe for EX. you can download it with the mod... not sure if you can distribute it though...

By any chance would anyone be willing to tell me were and how to allow for no-cd check modification to an exe... I am not sure what to really look for... that exe editor does not seem to work...

A PM might be a good idea...
