SSL Support at PPM
Hello everyone! If you've been browsing the forums recently, you may have noticed that we've started to enforce everyone to run the HTTPS version of PPM forums and website.
We are experiencing a couple of problems with that so far, with a couple of things, although we've done some good progress.
If you find any bugs that are now listed below, please, inform us. If you have any suggestions on how I could fix some of the bugs below that I don't know how to fix, please, show us your ideas.
Bug List so far:
1) User pictures that links to non https address will make the browser complain about the presence of insecure pictures.

Another Update:
Quote:
1) We do not know how to embed secure videos from ModDB.com. Apparently their main domain was propositally not designed to support SSL (they have other domains for it such as https://secure.moddb.com or https://media.moddb.com). If you disable the SSL protection in your browser, you can view the ModDB videos. ModDB video in the frontpage is the reason why https://www.ppmsite.com won't show as 100% secure in your browser. But the passwords are secured.
Videos from MODDB are now images with links to the video at ModDB.com until we find a better solution for it. QUICK_EDIT

Bug fixed: Cookie synchronization no longer works. If you login in the forums, you won't be logged in the site and vice-versa. To make things a bit more complicated, forums uses a GlobalSign certificate (paid) and site uses a cPanel (free) certificate. QUICK_EDIT

Bug Fix: There are some site encoding issues with forum names, descriptions and topic names and descriptions and perhaps post text. It's unclear if this is related to SSL support or not.
Note: Although we've solved this bug, we are still having problems to add polish symbols on posts. QUICK_EDIT

Changes on the policies from Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox would mark PPM forums as insecure. I don't know how it would affect the visitors from PPM, so I decided it was time to make it support SSL. QUICK_EDIT
I'm experiencing an odd problem in Chrome, where logging in at http://ppmforums.com redirects to https://ppmforums.com but forgets the login/logs you out. This causes you to miss out on any new posts, since it apparently marks them as seen during the "false" login to http://ppmforums.com.
Of three browsers, this only occurs in Chrome. In Firefox and Edge, logging in at http://ppmforums.com correctly redirects and logs you in to the HTTPS page. _________________ QUICK_EDIT
