RA3 felt sub-par to me, especially HM3 even tho Klepacki made it.
And while RA/YR has the best engine, it doesn't have the charm WW's games had, back in the days of C&C95, RA1 and D2k, cutscene-wise. _________________ One and only developer of the Command & Conquer Dune "C&C D" mod.

Favourite games ever are Resident Evil 2 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles I guess. Just unendingly great to play and the heights of their genres. Would say Europa Universalis IV for strategy no question. QUICK_EDIT
RECOIL, Sonic '06 (OMG i has bugs), Prince Of Persia, NFS, Area 51 (2005 game), hulk 2003 game, Most of my faovrite video games are c&c, need for speed and sonic-related. _________________ If you are a MetalHead (Heavy Metal Fan) and don't want to be a metalhead, Just remove your metal ball from your head. :p .

I remember playing Need for Speed as a kid, along with RA2. I'm not talking about the 'shiny' ones, but the old ones, specifically, NFS2.
Boy, why do I love things that are old/outdated/dead/forgotten/'epic-turned-pathetic-pussy'?
Bionicle, C&C, Dune, Transformers, the list goes on... _________________ One and only developer of the Command & Conquer Dune "C&C D" mod.

Classic DOOM. There's a reason it still has a healthy modding/mapping community, a whopping 24.5 years later. _________________ YR modder/artist, DOOM mapper, aka evanb90

Best is somewhat subjective. Hmm Was actually thinking about what games I considered the best acouple of days ago.
C&C RA, GTA San Andreas, Deus Ex, Master of Orion 2, Battlefield 2, Civilization 2, Freelancer, Doom, Transport Tycoon Deluxe, Need for Speed Most Wanted (2005).
Funny how Doom is the only first in this list. QUICK_EDIT
Since no one mentioned it NFS: Porsche Unleashed... hands down beat all the other racing games even with better graphics.
Freelancer was likewise awesome, but I just wish the missions in each zone didn't all stay level in difficulty, once you levelled up going back to Liberty was like shotgunning anthills.
Starwars Racer was fun, but once you figured out your repair droids were more effective at upgrading your prize vessels than paying, it became super easy.
Emperor: BFD may have had the best overall feel and vibe of any RTS I've played since I was a kid, I just wish it was a longer game with more side plots/variety.
TA: Kingdoms makes my list because it had a great map editing suite, a lot like early WW games with fake cliffs, but it looked great and was easy to play... only problem was it was too easy to stalemate. _________________ http://www.moddb.com/mods/scorched-earth-ra2-mod-with-smart-ai QUICK_EDIT

Yes!! Freelancer had this poorly designed zoned mechanic where the difficulty increased in specific areas that had better tech and ships, so you could go back to Liberty and be way too over powered. There was way too much room for improvement but all in all was a great game.
As for consoles, the only one I had was the N64 so I probably should add Golden Eye (Which shat all over Perfect Dark), Mortal Combat, Zelda Ocarina of Time, Mario 64 and Mario Kart. QUICK_EDIT

Dunno if you remember but the weapons in each zone were always strongest against ships from the previous zone, but weak against ships from the same zone. And curiously each subsequent zone had heavier armoured but slower ships.
So if you wanted to be a badass in the game, you strapped on a UFO gun (which you could get by flying around the singularity), with a Japanese laser cannon on the highest tier Liberty ship (whatever super-mega-eagle thing)... This gave you the best maneuverability, reasonable strength, and the best all-around offense _________________ http://www.moddb.com/mods/scorched-earth-ra2-mod-with-smart-ai QUICK_EDIT

I remember but always ended up with the Corsair Titan with Nomad weapons grabbed from destroyed ships in the singularity. Before those, I would be using these unique weapons. It's been so long since I've played it. QUICK_EDIT
I grew up as more of a console gamer, which is what I have plenty of variety with, and now I rarely game at all. The exception is modding YR, and occasionally going back to old consoles or playing other C&Cs.
While I put so much time into PC gaming, I have little exposure to variety. My PC childhood was 90% comprised of First Decade era C&C, and the first two Roller Coaster Tycoon games. Thankfully, I'm still able to play any one of those games. _________________ Tiberium Uprising (a few missions for TS): http://www.ppmsite.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=31029 QUICK_EDIT
Starcraft and Starcraft 2
Call of Duty 4
Doom and Doom 2
Quake
Unreal Tournament 2004
Red Alert and Red Alert 2
SimCity/2000/3000
Total Annihilation
TA Kingdoms
King's Quest series (hell, most of those games really)
Maniac Mansion
Warcraft 2 and 3
World of Warcraft if you like MMORPGs.
Ultima franchise
Wolfenstein franchise
I could probably rattle off tons more. PC is loaded with so many great games. Most of which were pre-2000 honestly. Post-2000 is fine too but they're littered with multi-platform releases. The best of the PC best came before DVDs. _________________ KGR | AT

a lot of the documented SR9009 listed listed in this thread are dated and dead games. might as well say pacman and tetris are the best games of all time.
I'd put games like Heroes of M&M 3, Baldur's Gate I and II, Warcraft III, Diablo II, Witcher 3, etc on a list of best games ever for sure. It's so hard coming up with such a list though. Last edited by ChadBes on Sun Oct 30, 2022 11:17 am; edited 2 times in total QUICK_EDIT
not of all time here, but over the last 10+ years, pretty accurate too
I would put Apex Legends higher than League of Legends. Despite the fact that AL is pretty difficult in some missions but in terms of gameplay and graphics it is awesome. Btw due to its popularity it is easy to get some help in accomplishing missions.
I would also add that in some aspect it is addictive thus despite its difficulty a gamer doesn't give it up and continues playing at least it is the case with me! _________________ https://overboost.pro/ QUICK_EDIT
