For the record, I don't know where radar92 gets his ideas from, but I have to say that any members who would act that way (Or in the way that the Albinoblacksheep animation showed) aren't very mature.
Sure, there's a certain allure to a girl who has the same interests as you, as well as one who is into unordinary things, especially things liek programming, etc (At least as far as I'm concerned, because she has intelligence), but to fall all over someone jsut isn't right.
I think it was Banshee who said that everyone is treated equally here, and that's how it should be. If you don't have the maturity to treat someone like a person, then keeping away from them is probably a good idea.
However, as far as the idea of "harassment" goes on internet forums, I haven't seen much, if any of it at all. There are a few idiots here and there, but the situation radar92 described seemed outlandish to me.
The only place I've seen people really act that way is on Yahoo! Chat or other chat rooms.
I stayed at a forum for years in which there were female writers, role players, etc,etc,etc and no one, that I recall, started acting immature that way.
And as far as it goes for a girl being on this forum, there's no reason to be Afraid. If someone Does start bothering a girl Or a guy, there are people called Mods or Admins who can be spoken to, simply to get rid of the annoyance.
But I doubt that that would happen here at the moment.
Personally, I'm rather curious to know if there Are any girls here, because it always intersts me to know what women are doing these days, and I think it's rather cool for a girl to be into modding, mapping, computer tech, writing, etc, and in a serious way, not a "I'm going to make a badly drawn flower and parade it like I'm the coolest person in the world" kind of way. (Sadly, that mindset can apply to males and females, and it's incredibly annoying. I've seen much more of that and just general stupidity than I've seen of harassment or generally bad behavior.) equality is the issue, people think that they may be less criticised or soften up if something is bad with there modding skills, etc because they are female or look good or something.
To be honest i would still flame the noobs regardless or gender, age or sex, i would like to think then in the year 2005 people can be judged on there skills and not anything else.
Anyhow there has to be a eastern modding database with a treasure trove of shps, voxels and probably tutorials. _________________ QUICK_EDIT
