Tiberian Sun 2010 is an unfinished and never-released mod. It features a very cool flame effect:

My theory is that this flame is basically a Cyborg Commando (CYC2)-like plasma weapon, with a ROT=1 (i.e. torpedo) projectile that itself is invisible, but it has a trailer "smoke" (in art.ini) that is the flame animation.

Let me know what you think of this improved flame effect.

Let me know what you think of my theory.

And Let me know which flame animation you think TS2010 mod is using.  Smile

If this was a trailer animation the flames would all be in a perfectly straight line, but since it's clear that this is not the case if you look closely this rules out your theory.
I'm pretty sure this was a matter of simply replacing the image of the FireStream particle.

The flame animation seems to have a pretty cool fade-in and fade-out (instead of abruptly) design. I hope I can find some shp assets that work similarly.
