Subject description: Lightning Strike and Meteor Shower...

I have started to learn FinalSun and single mission map creating in general.
I have mixed results.

Here is what I have challenge with now:

Once a specific building is destroyed, a Lightning Strike has to hit Waypoint 3.
I get the Lightning alright, after destroying the building, but it always goes to Waypoint 0.
In FinalSun:



Second issue, using the same trigger logic that actually creates a (misguided) Lightning, destroying another specific building supposed to deliver a Meteor Shower at Waypoint 2.
Nothing happens. The trigger has actions from 0 to 9 with 58 Meteor Shower, same Waypoint, increasing "Shower" value (I have no idea what is the right value there)

Same thing happens whether I run the map as TS mission or FS mission.

Ideas?

i don't know the specifics, but it could be that FinalSun creates the Actions for those trigger wrong. Some are known where FinalSun sets a wrong parameter.

You should compare your map in a text editor with an original TS/FS map that creates similar effects (first GDI campaign map for the meteor trigger, which was cast there on a bridge, the FS GDI mission with the Ghoststalker and Juggernaut which had lightning strikes on waypoints around the cultists temple).

you could also upload your testmap so others may have a look at it

Open the map in a text editor and verify the [Actions] section. Check map action information at Modenc. Check also how waypoint is represented in alphabets here.

If you use TSClient, it comes with fixes to FinalSun. Also there are more user friendly changes here which can be applied over TSClient's FinalSun. If you are not into TSClient, Holland has also packaged the new changes to make FinalSun standalone here.

ModEnc page helped to correct both. They are working like a charm now.
Lightning got the wrong waypoint reference (A instead of D and that is Waypoint 0). Meteor Shower, the structure was missing the Tag, only celltag existed. This was probably my fault, I just used "Place on map" function and believed nothing else to do here.

Anyway, I d/l the standalone FinalSun if you say it requires less manual review.

I'd better get back practicing, missions will not create themselves.

Yep, FinalSun has several trigger action and event descriptions wrong, it especially lacks Firestorm additions. ModEnc should have the correct information.

As for the "Shower" parameter, it means the size of the meteor shower, with 0 being the smallest (least meteors) and 3 being largest (most meteors).
