PPM bot auto-attaching download

Is it possible the PPM bot also automatically downloads and attaches the Steam map/mod to the post in Mods and Maps Archives?

When/If they decide to shut down/leave Steam in 2 or 3 years, all these maps and mods would be lost.
Would be surely helpful to have the backup on PPM, as we've seen several times how unreliable external file-hoster are.

Maybe the bot could attach Key Words as well.

I will certainly try it once they allow me to download these assets. At the moment, I am only allowed to subscribe into them.

You cant as the downloaders need to have the game. But if anyone has the game on origin the mods will be in steamapps/workshop/content then the store id of the game.

I do have Steam, JackYsback and I do have this game.

The thing is that this forum has a bot that fetchs content from Steam Workshop. This bot does not use a session on Steam site, so it is not logged in. It access the site in the same way a logged out user does and it analyses the HTML content to extract the data. I was trying to make it fetch the files from mods and maps here, but as Wingzzzy said, it might be impossible. Most of Steam downloader sites are failing on this job as well with the C&C: Remastered Collection.

Ok i see,
so u can get informations like title or description, but not the map and mod files...

I guess another solution could be to reunite the most asset on collections, and download them, then put them on another external server.

But its time consuming, and maybe not free...

If someone have another idea...

Banshee i can help you wtih making the bot work with your steam account so it can download the files and then auto upload them.
