Strange bug encountered at random times during campaign

Whilst playing through the game again (always come back to it) i've experienced a weird bug about 4-5 times.

the game continues to play but I can no longer do anything, I can select units fine, but cannot issue any move or attack commands, cannot build any new units or buildings and also cannot access the menu, the only way I know to fix this is by ctrl-alt-del for the task manager to shut the game down,

anyone else encountered this bug?

Sounds like lag that comes up so fast you don't notice.

Is it always a specific mission or some/all of them?

What does Task Manager say the CPU is doing under "Performance" tab? Is a thread/logical processor being fully (ab)used?
(under Performance tab select CPU, RMB the graph, look for "change graph to" and select the second option "logical processors" instead of "overall use" if you haven't already)
Try to be quick about it, Task Manager only "saves" the past 30s.

it seems to be completely random honestly, it's happend on gdi mission 4, and 7 then 11, and on the nod classic campaign mission 5 then stops me from doing anything, it 's as if the game has just switched me to a spectator mode mid game.

i'll check task manager if it happens again, normally just closing and starting again fixes the issue, but forgot to save for 2 levels on gdi so had a tantrum and quit haha
