The Soviet Flak Cannon always points up but is there a way to make it point straight, like the grand cannon so that you can use it as an anti tank turret ?

HVA - A file that dictates the animation of a voxel(if any), and placement of sections. Should a unit only have a VXL file, but no HVA file, the unit will be rendered invisible and use the xxicon.shp (RA2 logo with "Missing Cameo" caption) as it's cameo.

Go here and use the search function; you'll not regret it: https://www.modenc.renegadeprojects.com/Glossary_of_Common_Editing_Terms

Also, you edit HVAs with HVA Builder; it's somewhere here on PPM...

https://www.ppmsite.com/ under Editing Tools somewhere, though there might be a newer version elsewhere...

HVA and VXL files are with the INI files.

ra2.mix > local.mix

ra2md.mix > localmd.mix

XCC Mixer also has a search function.

Hit Ctrl+F then type *.hva to have it list all HVAs it can find.

If you're looking for, say, the Allied MCV, get the rules.ini then look for its section.
Allied MCV has the ID AMCV (you can just Ctrl+F rules.ini and search for Allied MCV or Allied Construction Vehicle, depending on what's under Name=).
But in its section you'll find Image=MCV
Meaning you have to look into art.ini for MCV, see if that has its own Image= flag defined.

If it doesn't, then the Allied MCV graphics are the files MCV.hva and MCV.vxl

For the Flak Cannon's turret, you'll have to chk its section and the flags that control the turret.

WW's flag names are really straight forward.
