[RA2YR] Amphibious MCVs
Subject description: since there aren't any public ones...
Westwood, edit TAK02
Nothing fancy, just nudged the MCV.vxl and SMCV.vxl down until the "thickest" layer was gone.
For the MCV.vxl this was until the wheels, for the SMCV.vxl half-way through the vehicle.
The Yuri Hover MCV was made long ago by Sleipnir64, who apparently now goes by the name pchote.
The Yuri Hover MCV was edited by me (nudged upwards a couple of times to match original PCV.vxl) but is not included in the ZIP; get it and nudge it yourself: http://graveyards.cncguild.net/download/HoverMCV.zip
If better amphibious MCVs were made for public use, please let me know

Spoiler (click here to read it):
Code:
Westwood&Sleipnir64, edit TAK02.
Nudged "thickest" layers of Allied MCV and Soviet MCV downward into VXLSE3 oblivion.

Codes for use with Ares DLL' inheritance feature which will hopefully never break any more than it already is:

Psst, Yuri MCV once had a concept art of it being hover. _________________ If you are a MetalHead (Heavy Metal Fan) and don't want to be a metalhead, Just remove your metal ball from your head. :p .

Either NimoStar or TAK02 was the third one I think. _________________ If you are a MetalHead (Heavy Metal Fan) and don't want to be a metalhead, Just remove your metal ball from your head. :p .
QUICK_EDIT
PS2: I think the Sleipnir MCV is not nudged up on purpose; it's meant to be hover and not amphibious. The Hover .ini code makes voxels be higher than normal, and gives them the "wobbing" effect. Also Hover speed is slower on land than regular speed. _________________ Last edited by NimoStar on Wed Dec 30, 2020 11:06 pm; edited 1 time in total QUICK_EDIT
That is true; I guess it depends on how you use it.
I initially wanted the Yuri MCV to be on the ground like a normal MCV but then switch to hover locomotor when over water.
However, TypeConvertion does not support changing the Locomotor without issues (most likely changing SpeedType is also part of the problem).
You'll have to see the mess for yourself, but trust me, you really do not want it in your mod; not until TypeConvertion supports changing Locomotors and SpeedTypes, which won't be happening any time soon.
So in the end I'm stuck with amphibious non-Hover MCV. I had to nudge the Hover MCV up a bit in VXLSE so the "transition" didn't look too jarring.
Also, it's not my fault there are no proper amphibious MCVs usable by the public; at least I'm trying by shamelessly copying Tiberian Sun GDI APC QUICK_EDIT
