Fast on the work with the effect. That makes it complete. As for the refinery being scrapped it's kind sad but you are the creator so it's your choice.
Do you plan to make a whole set of buildings for brand new side? QUICK_EDIT
i dunno, i will see how i feel about it. i like to make models and dont mind rendering them, but its just too frustrating to get them ingame sometimes. like
this firestorm. its not enough to make 4 models of it (normal, damaged, snow, snow damaged) and 2 dozen animations; i have to fight with the undocumented code,
make the walls, make the wall and firestorm anims, and fight with the code again. and it still has bugs. or the airpad. i had to revise that one three times because the aircraft wouldnt dock right.
or the refinery, which after 2 complete overhauls is still trash for not meeting up with the harvesters right. you have to be a certain level of either sadistic or autistic to animate for this game, i think _________________ visit my moddb profile for .shp downloads and stuff QUICK_EDIT
In vanilla TS, the anim given in FirestormActiveAnim=GAFSDF_A, has layering issues with units. That gets fixed by adding Surface=yes to [GAFSDF_A] in arts ini.
If the problem is similar, it should be fixable by adding Layer= entry to anim specified in FirestormActiveAnim=MAFSWALL_A. QUICK_EDIT

While this is a very unique building and creative and fills and niche we don't have,
I think the refinery is better, because it has a "sense of scale".
The firestorm generator doesn't have windows, doesn't have doors, or cranes, or warehouse enterings; in other words it could be a room-size gizmo and nobody would notice.
I think buildings need something that "Gives" their size.
The closest is the railings at the ceiling, even then, there is no obvious way to get there _________________
