I'm always having big problems applying a loading screen using OS SHP Builder for RA2/YR. The palette is not converted well and the picture looks kinda bad most of the time. I understand the game is old and running on 16 bits, so the RGB color format is 5:6:5 and using palettes, can someone tell me how to correctly convert a modern picture ( 8:8:8 ) to that format? I see no way to create a custom palette from OS SHP Builder so I'm forced to use the default glsmd.pal, are you guys using a different techinque?

Thanks, currently I'm using Ares 3.0 and I plan to get into Phobos in the future, but I'd still like to know the "old" way to do it, if any. It could help me understand the modding workflow better.
