[A set of UBN terrain] Semi-modelled GreyGoo terrain style
Subject description: Yes, they can download
I've spent a bit of time over the last almost six months working on this terrain set, with a prototype design from an RTS game called GreyGoo
Considering that the quality and intended effect of the terrain is not to my satisfaction, I personally do not intend to use it and have decided to release it to the public so that anyone can use it and modify it as they wish.
If anyone needs the source files for the images of this terrain, they can contact me and ask me to provide.
wow this must have been a ton of work. the pavement especially is really nicely made and the rough cliffset also
looks really good. it even has bridges.
if i may ask, did you do this all in 2d image editors, or did you use 3d models for it? _________________ visit my moddb profile for .shp downloads and stuff QUICK_EDIT

Mainly hand drawing, using ps to do most of the work
Some areas are batch processed using 3dmax scenes _________________ Like me~

Those trees would fit well in a Tiberium universe.
The deep grass isn't bad, but the water is way too lumpy/noisy.
The concrete edge tileset would look a whole lot better with that bright blob removed.
The big roads have a brightness inversion, they should be darker in the middle where the lines are drawn and paler where the cars drive, but they look decent otherwise.
The small roads don't look very good at all, and the dashes in the yellow line are way too large I think.

Also I have to ask about the soccer field, it looks like none of the drawn lines are straight, some are off angle, some are wobbly?
The water is not deep water, my intention was to make a shallow puddle reflecting the grass inside, the inside looks uneven because it's the "ground mapped out of the water", a design reference from a game called GreyGoo.
I'm really unhappy with the quality of the paths and cliffs, I drew them all by hand with a brush, so the result looks very mediocre, maybe I'll consider the 3d modelling route for these in the future, the amount of work it would take to draw every single road by hand is killing me!
The football pitch was just to make the uneven surface of the grass mapped out by drawing lines on it, that's all _________________ Like me~
