Maybe this is only a dream.
"IsRailgun="and"IsBigLaser=" are not good to use,cannot edit and DIY effect(I think we donot want to see a big spaceship shoot a small laser),I hope Ares can update it.(1)hope laser has double shoot or three shoot  (2)hope shoot has super long range  (3),hope  when solder into building  will change shp shape.

and RA2 and CC2 has a error: solder `s shp can not compete play(when enemy die the animation  will stop)

a wider beam can be achieved using a railgun and AlphaImage on the particles.

the alphaimage is only a simple small circle of brightness (colorindex ~135 in the center, down to colorindex 127 which is neutral), radius about 5 pixel in my example.
Note: Don't give the circle center a too high colorindex (too much brightness), or the many overlapping alphaimages don't create a smooth fade out effect ingame.

Then make the railgun particles invisible and only have the alphaimage do the job of raising the brightness along the railguns path.
The many particles make the overlapping circles look like a single line of brightness.

Adjust number of particles, the railgun parameters and the alphaimage to your liking to create many different styles.

The only limitation: the lasers can't be colored. AlphaImage is always a neutrail brightness adjustment.
Bug/sideeffect: the AlphaImage railgun is visible through the shroud and causes temporal artifacts in the shroud when the alphaimages get removed again. Because the shroud is just an alphaimage as well and the game seems to have trouble to delete cleanly the underlying temporary AlphaImage.
