Quick question about the HeatSeeker projectiles: can the bolt-like trajectory be changed with a straight one ?

To detail, when the deployed GGI fires, there a bolt-trajectory towards up and then the projectile goes towards target.

I want to use a trooper that fires from standing position and I need the projectile to be a straight line.

How can this be achieved ?
Thanks.

If you use Phobos, you can use Trajectory=Straight, don't use Arcing=yes with it

The typical seeker missile will first attempt to reach a specific flight altitude before homing in on the target. Using vanilla code, just lower ROT to 1 or 2, so that reaching flightlevel wouldn't allow it to hit the target, and thus appears to mostly fly straight, however a low ROT means a higher likelihood of missing a moving target.

I need this for tankbusters /anti-armor troopers that will fire at tanks, so flight path needs to be as direct as possible.

I will test with RoT, thanks.

@fsolisiii - I want to use the original code, no Phobos or Ares for my current build.

It doesn't have to be 1 or 2, though (as indicated by the ROT of HeatSeeker variants in TS), 8 seems to be the cap. You can play around with ROTs below 8 to build a projectile that flies straight but still has the necessary accuracy. The "Arm" value on a guided missile adds some inaccuracy, so omitting Arm should improve the accuracy when using really low ROTs.

I found a way (relatively good): I can use the Cannon logic instead of the GGI Missile logic. That way, things like MLRSs and standing rocket troopers will be able to shoot in a non-weird manner.
