Howdy! Together with the latest playtest of OpenRA, a new playtest version of OpenRA Tiberian Dawn HD has been released recently by OpenRA developers. For those unaware, OpenRA Tiberian Dawn HD is the Tiberian Dawn mod from the OpenRA engine using the high-resolution graphics and other assets from Command & Conquer Remastered Collection. In order to run it, you must own a Steam or Origin copy of Command & Conquer: Remastered Collection. It is also recommended to use a high-performance dedicated GPU. Here are the words from pchote regarding OpenRA Tiberian Dawn HD 20230110 PlayTest:

Quote:
The prototype version of Tiberian Dawn using the remastered assets is also updated https://github.com/pchote/TiberianDawnHD/releases/tag/playtest-20230110

Again, important notes:
- This is just a prototype.
- Performance, memory usage, and loading times have not been optimized and do not reflect the expected final requirements. A dedicated GPU is recommended.
- You need to have the remastered collection purchased and installed via Steam or Origin.
- Use at your own risk.

You can learn more about OpenRA Tiberian Dawn HD by visiting its Github Profile. OpenRA Tiberian Dawn HD is available for download Here. And that's all regarding OpenRA Tiberian Dawn HD for now. Stay tuned at PPM for more news about OpenRA Tiberian Dawn HD!

I have to wonder what the point of this is, given you still need a copy of the original to play it, where's the advantage to playing the same content with OpenRA?

OpenRA is easier to mod right now for dummies than any of the games from the Remastered Collection.
