After watching these 2 videos, I think, in my opinion, that this is the Bernie Madoff of video games.

I would not be surprised if there is an announcement that their hard drives crashed, and they lost everything, or that the guys just skipped town with all that loot.

What do you guys think ?

It is bizarre, indeed. And it is even more bizarre how people pay so much for potential DLCs from unreleased, far from being finished, games.

The only two thoughts I give to the whole development of SC:

- The product changed, they kept adding stuff beyond the scope of the original, to the point where they can't tell what is a core feature and what is a stretch goal anymore.

- People paying what they do to play this unique world game aren't just paying for the game, but the entire experience, the comraderie and spectacle of the events they hold. How many games hold reveal events for every patch?
I've heard people spend $16k usd on a "free" game like War Thunder, I hardly think that makes WT a scam, disregarding arguments about the grind, it's just a reflection of peoples attitudes towards "lifestyle" gaming.
Maybe you think it's a "bad value" but maybe they don't.

Likewise Kickstarter programs often add extra shit when they reach funding goals, and some entire projects have even failed in those "extra" days, when the core project should already have wrapped. The fact that SC hasn't died, and there's no hint of any imminent failures anytime soon, already makes it seem like a safe bet that you'll at least get something at the end.

That's it.
