Hard drive eats local man's disk space, local man says angry

Yup, i uninstalled about 5 gb of disk space, because i had only 1 gb remaining on my comp. Strange thing is...i deleted the programs and should have had around 6 gb of free disk space but instead, my hard drive ate 672 mb and did NOT free any. Shocked

wtf?

I tried the following:
-clean manager
-disabling & removing all restore points
-searching all windows modified files on april 1st
-using an alternate uninstall program to see if those files really got removed
-restarting my computer

Nothing helped....files are deleted, but no disk space is freed. can somebody help me?

Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs. There click on a program you want gone and click remove.

it's what i did and that ate my hard drive space.

EDIT: OMFG. I deleted stuff by myself and got to freeing 1.60 gb. Then, my computer started giving me hard disk space...i have now 6.00 gb. Odd enough... Confused
