I havn't done many renders lately so I figured what the hell why not make a quick little render to try and sharpen my skills.

the hardest part of this render was getting the shadow right... but i think judging on the angle of the sun i got it right.

Terrific! I only suggest you increase ambient lighting a bit, so that the plane doesn't look so black. Also, the cloud shadwos are both too strong and too sharp.

Overally very nice render, though :->

Beautiful! it is a fitting tribute to the retired plane, which, now is a peice of C&C history. well done!

well, the idea of the plane was that it was suppose to be just a siloquete against the sky... althought because it is low poly (and from generals) the siloquette is a bit blocky.

If you look around the Terragen site, you can get plugins that help you transfer camera and lighting settings between Terragen and 3DSM. Most are free, but one or two you have to pay for.
