By hand... not using notepad because my win9x notepad sucks for these things... maybe notepad only for firestrm.ini, but wordpad for all other files.

In win98 yes. Notepad doesn't deal with big documents like rules.ini. Also, the way it searchs for words is different too... and there are other minor things... I prefer Wordpad, since it's faster for me and has a better pagination.

By hand with notepad becuase program like se2k is just only for n00bs. Well but I am little clumsy and can sometime screw up everything when i working by hand so I always have a backup if the unthinkabel should occur. But serious I do it by hand becuase I think its go faster that way and I dont have to pay a program I never can fully understand.

i was using se2k, and then i had a look at people's views of it, and it looks like it can mess some things up, so im going to start using wordpad or notepad so i can see what im making changes to lol. the creator of se2k has made hes program free now.

SE2K is a good program. it can help newbies (not N00bs Wink) to understand how TS works.

but for advanced modding (debris, adding new anims...) you cant use it.

its too simpel for things like that.  Laughing

but the biggest problem is: SE2K will use INF0001, WEP0001, WAR0001 and so on as standart code in rules.ini!  #Mad

so its very difficult to work on AI with these codes  Rolling Eyes

I mod with Paint Shop Pro 3...

Oh wait, you mean CODING? I just don't do that at all. But coding isn't really modding without gfx changes anyway IMO #Tongue

SE2K is a 30-days shareware, isnt it?

if you run WinXP you can create an second user account.
now, iwhen the 30-day trial time elapsed you can run the program
on your second user count ... and voilâ:

you ll get 30 days more to "test" SE2K   Wink

There's not a single good mod that wasn't made by a text editor (like notepad or wordpad). Wordpad is all you'll ever need (and should use) to edit ini's everything alse is just an extra pain in the ass.

I use both SE2K and NotePad.  NotePad is really good for any kind of modding, while SE2K is really good for modders like my sister.  It uses really big buttons.  When I use SE2K, however, I do really complicated modding and sometimes use it's rules.ini file by copying it and editing as I please.  I do that mostly because every time I try to add a new side to TS, it never works.
