its a game set in deep space basicly its a 3D rts in space with ships you build stuff and cary out research as normal and kill stuff. _________________ QUICK_EDIT
I have all three. And I've beaten them all. Homeworld 2 was the best but the first one was good too. Cataclysm just, well, it was very bad. I won't say anymore to discourage you people. _________________ Fear my frisbees of doom!
Cataclysm isn't too bad, just the Beast was unbalanced.
I had Homeworld 1, but the CD mysteriously disappeared, and I played Cataclysm. I modded it a little too much, and it blew up in the mission where you find that the beast infected a whole Kushan carrier fleet. I have no clue what happened after you find out about the carrrier fleet, as the game blew up right after that small movie. Also, did you find out what the "Nomad Moon" was?
I almost beat Homeworld, I was on the mission where you had to destroy the Field Generators preventing you to hyper-space to Higara.
Haven't played Homeworld 2 yet, I'm looking for a demo, though. _________________
Um, well, I can answer your questions. Nomad Moon is indeed a "super weapon", in the sense that you need a crapload of dreadnoughts to get through all the stuff guarding it. Then you fight the Naggarok, which 'is' the Beast. It's a cheap ass thing that moves as fast as a probe, and "eats" your capital ships. Soon enough, the Bentusi decide to move their lazy asses and give you the specs for their ion fighters. Then you kill the Beast and it's all over. And whatt do you mean by your game blew up? Did it permentaly crash or something??
Oh well. I'll give you a link for the HW2 demo, although you can find the game for like, $20-$30 I think at a store. But you'll need DirectX 9 to play it, just as a warning, but I'm sure you have it.
One last thing, is the field generator the level with the huge sphere of Ion Cannon Frigates? I don't remember because I loaned out my HW disc to my grandma so I can't play it right now. _________________ Fear my frisbees of doom!
The graveyard is cool, it's just annoying that I can't capture the Junkyard Dog. And did you see some of the derelicts??? They looked just like the ships you can get, just slightly different. It's creepy.
Oh ya, did you get the demo? _________________ Fear my frisbees of doom!
Yeah, I did. It rocks. I managed to save the whole convoy with one try.
The derelicts, at least some of em, I think, were early versions of the current fleet.. Maybe they're the original Hiigaran fleet.. you know, from the "First Time", when the Taiidan first defeated them.. _________________
The convoy is the only mission? Wow; well, the real game is 15 times harder. And technically it wasn't the Taiidan that defeated the Hiigarans, it was the Bentusi, using the Bentus and their massive fleet of warships, they obliderated the Hiigaran fleet leaving only the "Wrath of Sajuuk", a warship that had the Hiigaran Hyperspace core (farjump, not the cheap mass produced kind), which hyperspaced into the Angel Moon, thus leaving the core there and no one knew about it except the Hiigarans. All the Taiidan did was go and beat the shit out of the rest of the area since the Bentusi scraped their whole fleet because of their sorrow of killing the whole Hiigaran Navy. They did that because they knew that they probably would have done the same, had they been in the Hiigaran's place. So the Taiidan had free run of the area. That, was what happened in the "First Time" that made the Hiigarans be exiled. _________________ Fear my frisbees of doom!
No, you get the first mission, at Tanis base, then you gotta escort the convoy to the Pride of Hiigara.
I actually knew most of that, as the site I linked to at the top is pretty good. The only part I didn't know was that the Bentusi scrapped the fleet afterwards..
I just read some of it again.. the Hiigarans abandoned the Pride of Hiigara?
Hardly makes any sense.. they go to all the trouble to make it & protect it & keep it top secret, then they abondon it..
They abandon it beacause they need its hyperspace core to use it in the Sajuuk ship, because Sajuuk requires 3 farjump cores. And they already had Manaan's and the Bentusi's. And the Pride of Hiigara was transported by the core, so without the core, it would travel too slowly for it to get anywhere. And on top of that, they needed Karan S'Jet to "be" Sajuuk by linking with it using a nuerological (did I spell that right?) interface, and they couldn't use the Pride of Hiigara without her anyway, so they left it behind sisce it wouldn't do any good, but they did have some regrets about leaving it, although, I suppose they could bring it back if they extracted one core from Sajuuk and brought it back the the Pride of Hiigara, they could hyperspace the Pride of Hiigara back and put the core back in Sajuuk and use the Pride of Hiigara as a massive dock. And I think they knew that they would have to abandon it, even if they kept it a secret. And it was kept a secret because they didn't want to just say, "Hey look everyone, we're building another mothership, come and look at it!" as that would just be plain dumb. _________________ Fear my frisbees of doom!
Hmm... good point. I guess they might just do that in Homeworld 3.( I mean, hyperspace it back to Hiigara for Huge docking facilities) _________________
I don't think they'll make a Homeworld 3. The only way they could is if they brought in a new race, and then HW would die because it would devolve into a stereotypical stratey game. The only other way is if they brought in the Progenitors. That might be interesting. _________________ Fear my frisbees of doom!
