Search for RA1 icons
I'm looking for any kind of modified, alternate or custom cameo icons for Red Alert 1 and/or Tiberian Dawn Windows Edition. If you can give me links to the appropriate sites, your help will be greatly appreciated
And yeah, I'm especially interested in alternate Red Alert Aftermath unit icons that I've seen on some site I forgot where... Aww, that's not good.
But it can't be that this unique set of icons got lost, can it? There was such a splendid sunset on the background of the Missile Sub icon...
And could anyone kindly explain me why are there so few RA1-dedicated sites all over the net ??? Or am I just looking into wrong places? Well, quite a poor consolation is this... I think we'll continue our pleasant "Porn Sites Where Red Alert Once Was" conversation in a different thread I'll probably start up in foreseeable future

When I'm in mood, I'll convert them into SHP format and post in the SHP section. Yoo-hoo!
EDIT: I've converted them and tested in-game. They look normal, but not too cool.
EDIT (2): I've found out that these icons are not pre-release Westwood ones as I thought but a custom creation of a person called Rene Boutin <rabies@globalserve.net> and were actually taken from the Red Alchemist Pro editor (downloadable fro free at http://www.silverbandsystems.com). The link to Rene Boutin's site given in the RA Pro help file is broken, unfortunately

These icons are really good, except for they lack a bit darkened area where the cameo text is, cuz it makes text belnd with the picture, which doesn't look very good in-game (although is quite normal in preview)

Some more alternate RA1 icons
Here are some more of Rene Boutin's RA icons, the best of his work, from my point. Notice that a never-seen-before Forward Command Outpost icon is included. There are also Hospital and Bio Lab icons in Rene's set, but they're not so good so I don't post them here.

C&C95 Conyard icon
Speaking of interesting icons, here's one I found in the Renegade always.dat file. It's a C&C95 ConYard icon, only the text was removed. Note that it can't be found in any C&C95 mix files. I have added the text to it, borrowing the alignment from RA conyard icon.

Search for RA1 icons
If you look at the Medic cameo in MooMan's Rules mod, it looks the same as the Mechanic from that alternate RAAM set.
