So, we are proud to finally announce the winner! Both Tesla7zap and Muldrake deserves my big thumbs up, since both maps were spotlighted and they'll receive a lot of prizes. These were the only maps that scored above 75%, so they are really special!

Anyway, the winner is TESLA7ZAP! He won the TS Open Map Competition for the second time! He's the best Open Map Competition contestant from our history! In the first edition, he won with the map Tiber River scoring 81%. The map was very well done, offered a fantastic lighting and an excelent job with triggers. In the second edition, he submited the map "The Pit", getting the third place with also an spotlighted map.

The map he submited for this edition is called Contagium. It features an amazing lighting, detailing and a great use of triggers. It was considered the most ballanced map from the contest and got the best eye candy as well. Fantastic 6 players map, clearly made by a winner! Honestly, my favourite map as well. Here's the details:

Carnotaurus's Position: 3rd - 76.0%
-------------------------------
Final Position: Champion! (BEST)

The second place is Muldrake! He is a tallented voxeller and mapper for Tiberian Sun Retro and he's also helping the guys from Tiberium Odyseey.

Muldrake's map is FS Phoenix, a very nice and fun map, featuring a good detailing and a very nice use of trigger. It has an interesting city in the center protected by Firestorm walls. However, the cities has some proposital flaws that allows players to pass through it and kill civilians. It also has some special sectors in the map that allow players to capture some goodies. Here's the details from Muldrake's map:

Long awaited, off to play them! Very Happy

Edit: Ok i have played them! Smile

Well first of well, very good job Tesla7zap, fantastic lighting, good detailing, & well balanced. I like how the rivers, tracks & tunnels all seem connected throughout the map. Neat. Smile

& Muldrake, a valiant effort also! I like that Nod base, looks very isolated & somewhat abandoned, & i like how there are guards in the city patrolling. Also another nicely balanced map. Good job! Smile

& of course good work to everyone who entered! Very Happy I am going to have a tough time when i enter OMC4! Wink

Congrats Tesla7Zap! Your map is truly cool and impressive (too bad it's for FS). You really did the best map. You certanly have a good imagination.

Muldrake, your map isn`t bad at all. I really like it. You did a good job too.

Next year for sure I'll be in OMC4 (if nothing gets in my way that is)!

Congratulations Tesla, utterly fantastic map, and definitely worth 1st place.
The lighting really gives it a better TS feel, in my opinion. Its damn impressive, and I love it.
Well done!

Hope you don't mind me borrowing some ideas, though Wink I think I'll be borrowing a lot from some of these submissions Very Happy

Fell king, you might just want to improve it for the next OMC, as you didn't submit it yet.

Oh and congrats to both of you winners! The score is so close! Smile

i hope all u mappers learn something from Tesla7zap and Muldrake.
most maps i have seen have this advanced westwood style going on, there is so many more that can be done.
alot of the map gave me this boring feeling after a while because i was seeing the same thing over and over.

We should make OMC4 have a theme. RA1 'reduxes' to tribute RA1's 10 year anniversary next time around. *Drools at the thought of 'Brother Stalin Redux'.*

I was wondering, how many points would an entrant lose if their map lagged during play?

I've done a refined version of my map, fixing some of the errors, (allowing some of the features to properly be revealled) as well as adding and sorting out a few other bits.
