(Story told from the view of a unit in the Rebel Army. Just a heads up, it's long.)

December 20th, 2014

It’s been cold for a while now…

Dr. Kleiner said I should start writing a journal, as it’s a good alternative outlet of emotions than, say, beating someone’s face in with the butt of your rifle.

Well, at least this way, I don’t get to sit in confinement for a day.

But this is just a piece of paper, how much good could it do?

Maybe I should treat it like a person…


Okay, hello piece of lined paper. My name is Private First Class Janet Foxwood. I’m nineteen years old, and I never knew my parents.

Okay, now I’m getting ahead of myself. Oh what the hell, who cares?

I was born in the Year 1995. This really doesn’t matter. I lived happily for eight years, until one day, everything I knew fell upside down.

Some people still talk of it. Black Mesa. A research facility in New Mexico that accidentally opened a portal into another world. The government managed to blow the facility to hell, and someone by the name of “Gordon Freeman” managed to destroy the alien army before it reached us.

At least, that’s what I’ve heard.

The time period after Black Mesa is called the Portal Storm Age, and it lasted for four. Random, violent storms would pop up, and with them would come all sorts of alien bastards, confused and scared. My parents were killed by a lone headcrab, my mother mutated beyond all recognition, ripping my father to shreds in his sleep. And it only got worse.

The government actually ordered us all into the cities, saying they could protect us. Sure, I believed it, it sounded great. Too bad this just corralled everyone when they came.

I remember the last summer on Earth. It was a crisp summer day, and I was twelve. I was playing in a park with a few friends, with GIs standing around us to keep us safe from stray aliens. The sky got real dark, and the GIs looked at each other, all worried. Then, this massive crashing sound, like the ground getting ripped apart. Then, not even half a second later, a huge (Citadels usually average about two miles in height alone.) building appeared in the middle of town. All these things (Gunships and Striders, as I later learned) started pouring out of the tower, shooting anything and everything. The GIs told us to run, and we did just that. One soldier, I think his name was David, gave me his pistol, and told me not to shoot anything that didn’t look human.

I didn’t.

We all hid in the woods, listening to the sounds of battle all around us. One of the girls wanted to run into the mountains, but they were walled off by the government. Constantly, helicopters would fly above into the city, but wouldn’t come back.

Seven hour later, the fighting stopped.

See, the Combine took over Earth in just seven hours flat. Some guy named Wallace Breen arranged Earth’s surrender, placing us under the Combine rule.

But they didn’t want Earth. They wanted the fresh, new resources in the ground. Breathable oxygen. They wanted to use the entire planet as just one strip mine, and move on.

Not only that, but they put up a global Birth Suppression Field, which basically kept a woman from having a baby. Anywhere.

Soon, they started to ruin the planet, evaporating the oceans and extracting minerals and ores right from the ground. They even went as far as to start replacing the oxygen in the air, replacing it with something barely breathable.

And for some reason, it's either hot or cold out now. Not much in the way of varied seasons.

We would be the last generation of the human race.

Now, the Vortigaunts constantly preached about the Combine Reckoning, and the coming of the One Free Man. Apparently, when this Free Man came back, the Combine would get the boot and Earth would belong to the humans again.

A month ago, that happened.

We got reports from City 17 (The “Capital” of Earth, where Wallace Breen lived. Post tense now.) that Gordon Freeman had returned. Now, global communications is hard nowadays, so the next message we get is that City 17 went up in a flash, and that the Combine were dazed and confused.

The global rebellion set into motion that night. For the first time in years, I got to sleep in a proper bed, in a proper building, in downtown City… wait, no, make that Seattle. See, here, organization was nill, and the rebels were able to easily storm the Citadel, wiping out any Combine unit that stood in their way.

Now, we’ve been fighting for a month. People are motivated as ever now, especially the soldiers that fought in the Seven Hour War. Now, no one knows what happened to this “Gordon Freeman”, but I’m sure he’ll turn up. People like that always have a way of making an entrance.



Huh. Dr. Kleiner was right. This writing thing doesn’t hurt. I’ll have to do this more often. Maybe when we get some good things going on. Hell, I’ll get the rest of the squad to start this. Rebuilding the world, one step at a time.

Okay, if you didn't get it the first time, this is a Half Life 2 mod for Red Alert 2. The two playable sides will be the Opressed Rebels, and the Iorn Will of the Combine Earth Forces.  I plan on replacing EVERY unit in the game, redoing the GUI and adding new sounds. Major task? Yes, but I've got time.

The following screenshots are NOT final. At all. Ever. They can't even aspire to be final.

Basically, I wanted to make sure I could actually ~do~ something.

Oh, and those tanks? PD voxels. I hope to get new ones made for the mod soon.






(The blue outline is where HLMV decided that the image needed some JPEG artifacts. The remappable one doesn't have those, thanks to the cleanup I gave it. Good riddance. I'll have that fixed when it's released, beleive me.)

Website: None, at the moment. I lack hosting thanks to my financial situation.

Nice mod, but those tanks need little change in normals...

Glad to see people are interested.

DonutArnold: The entire tank Voxel is a mess. It actually has two turrets, just one isn't animated.

Havoc: Free hosts don't offer PHP scripting, which I use for all my websites.

Update: Went and played Voxel editor this morning. Got a good looking Rebel tank in game, and an Osprey. Not much, but it's a start. I'm going to redo the CP SHPs tonight. Also, the Osprey skin is rather horrible, and will get redone sometime tonight as well.

Looking good although you must have used some dark colours on those tanks that the game pallete dosnt read. (they are pink).

& Yes, Strider rush! Would be awesome! Very Happy

Ten dollars says you mean HL1 to RA2!

Sorry about that, but everything I've seen is in HL1, not HL2.


Will we be seeing HunterChoppers? And other such evil things?

1) u need to fix the blue lines on a infantry

2) colour schemes and normals need a overhaul

but potential in this mod
