Myself, I use Tibed. I'm not a big Notepad fan. I find Tibed easy to use.

THe thing is, that's not true. You're making the assumption that everyone who uses it is stupid. It's like saying that liking item A makes you stupid. Not true.

TibEd is so basically crap and rubbish,so someone who uses something so terribly rubbish is lets say, perhaps stupid?

You are aware of the better tool that is notepad but continue to use the bad one, think about it Rolling Eyes

It does mess up your files, though. That's one of the drawbacks. I just happen to like TibEd better. I don't have to scroll through the files just to find something. But I will definately consider Notepad editing.

Trust me when I say using TibEd does nothing to help the modding experience. TibEd is widely known as the program to give you nuclear monkeys and tesla cows, not for a quality mod. As DCoder's sig once said:
'No mod made in TibEd deserves respect.'

You guys have pretty much convinced me to make my mod in Notepad. But I already made part of it in TibEd, so starting over isn't an option.

Just one quick question: Why is TibEd so bad?

TibEd is messy in your ini,we mean very messy,do it in notepad correctly and as well as making you learn much quicker you can do it how you want without all the tags all over the place.

The thing is is that I always edit my INI files after I make them in TibEd. I clean them up, and do things that I couldn't do in TibEd. I make sure everything is in working order.  I've been doing this ever since I found out that it mutilates the files, and it's proven effective.

I personally used EditPad, and recently purchased [yes, purchased] EditPad Pro, because the great (regular expression powered) search/replace, syntax highlighting and other great features are worth it. But then again, I use it for more than just CnC ini coding.

And of course I am including some of the most convenient features from it into my upcoming INI Editor. Wink

All I use is notepad and DCoder's Ini Editor. I used SunForge before. It's a really nice editor for beginers, although the new stuff gets after the original rules.ini.

Not all the tags are present in tibed for one and its basically useless for proper modding or patch based modding i.e. rock patch

I'm glad to say i never used tibed not even my noobish eclipse network days.

My INI Editor is not public yet... The INI Checker is, but it shouldn't be used as an editor anyway.

Ya know, after using notepad for a few days to edit, I've started to like it. I've grown used to it. For one, unlike Tib Ed, it doesn't slow my computer down.

For easier INI edit, Use SE2K's INI Editor, but only that. Do not mess up with other bullshit which is in there...

And TibEd sucks...
