Hi to all of you CnC fans!  Smile
I'm not a tiberian sun modder (anymore), but instead dumped my work on ts because I wanted to increase the features of my mod, so I chose to use Red alert YR instead. The lack of features in ts is really painful, still some are very nice and I'm afraid, they could be removed in functionality or not implied at all in RA2 and YR. As an example, one could take the train feature, that was disabled in RA, but with a few key hits, this can be replaced. Exclamation
I need to know exactly, if the following features are still available in RA2 and YR, or how to reenable them:
- Ion storms (global map effects, I plan to do a rain storm here)
- meteorite showers
- visceroids
- building upgrades
- jellyfish locomotor (TS - Firestorm)
- ice cracking
- terrain deformation
-  Exclamation  AND MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL:
FOG OF WAR  Exclamation
are these features or some of them still available in RA2 or YR Question
THanx for replies  Rolling Eyes

This subject has been covered countless times, I'm sure browsing the RA2 Editing forum will prove useful.

Edit: thanks to whoever moved this silently.

there are tons of building upgrade tutorials out...

the rest of the things is gone.
you can try recreating a meteor storm using my patch though.

Ion storms-Sacrifice Weather Control and map triggers
Meteor Showers-Possible even without RockPatch, but better with it
Upgrades- no problem, but they (Maybe also in TS, I dont know) cannot be prerequisites and cannot use new RA2/YR logic.
Jellyfish-not in game, maybe you can emulate it, I dont know
Ice cracking-not possible
Terrain deformation-completely impossible
Fog of war-Emulate by placing Gap generators with huge radius on maps or look to tutorial here-maybe if you use it and make everything cloak + give it sensors with range same as Sight=, it will work with the right graphics effect. But it would probably lag.

I have gotten a meteor shower to work in YR, but for some reason, I don't see debris fly out from the meteor impact, even though there are secondary explosions that could only be meteor debris impact explosions... there might not be an image for the debris included in vanilla YR... but it DOES work. We really need a modding FAQ or similar
These sort of topics really get tedious (the fact they where answered when first asked 5 years ago)

There is a constant re-emergance of these sort of basic questions here and at tumsun

anyway rant over #Tongue

u can have visceroids  but they don't result from tiberium damage which isn't impossible but the work around is bad and they won't merge.

Best bet is to simply use a inf version of the visceroids  which turns infantry into visceroids  when they kill there prey.

The meteor shower triggers just need the animations adding back into the animation list or they cause an IE. The animations themselves still exist, but the transparency on the explosions causes the game to lag because so many are spawned. Create none transparent versions and it plays great.

Ice cracking and Terrain Deformation need exe hacks to add the logic back in. Me and the other guys who have worked on the TX really wanted to do the cracking ice sets as it would be an awesome feature to add back in. DeeZire once said that some of the dev team for RA2 told him the logic was left in, but the tags in the terrain.ini files weren't parsed anymore.
