Original Concept: 20/20
Balance: 12/15
Eye Candy: 20/30
Fun Factor: 10/20
Triggers: 5/15

Total: 67/100

A very nicely terrained map, with very good texture placement. Not symmetrical either, it is very good looking. It is quite balanced, but I really wish it had about 1/10th the amount of tech buildings it has now. There is a lighting problem, when a nuke goes off, the map becomes extremely bright, and after several more, it is unbearably bright.

Original Concept: 15/20
Pretty good, I like the town in the middle, it will give the players something to fight for

Balance: 12/15
Everything is well spaced- build room is pretty reasonable. The one problem is that the top players have a slight advantage with the high-ground. However, you did place cliffs in front of lower player’s positions which would make good places to stick defensive tanks.

Eye candy: 20/30
Not Bad. Some areas lack a bit of detail and the cliffs need a bit more texture- they are a bit straight.

Fun Factor: 15/20
I enjoyed the game play. The AI hit pretty fast regardless of skill level and the high ground made all the difference. The only downside was that it was so wide-open that I got a tiny bit bored.

Triggers: 12/15
The sound triggers came off great and the day/night loop looked good, but there was no fun or original trigger ideas. (not that the map needed any) good job!

- Original Concept: 17/20

Total: 80/100

- Day/night cycle was a nice touch, although superweapon lighting lagged the game in an extremely bad way.
- Many minor cliff errors.
- Nice detail in the city.
- Too many tech buildings, maybe?




-> Flak's Review:

- Original Concept: 19/20 - Realistic terrain and nice little village in the centre.  Trees are
very well placed.
- Balance: 12/15 - 2 players are based on top of a cliff whilst the other 2 are on
lower ground height - height advantage for 2 players.  Ore and build space
however is nicely balanced.
- Eyecandy: 25/30 - Very good semi-desert like feel.  Water fits the landscape well and
the cliffwork is eye-appealing.  Lighting constantly varies in areas giving
a nice feeling of radiance.  More ground texturing would make it look even
better.  Also, cliffing at the very top of the map is too high giving black
errors in-game.
- Fun Factor: 18/20 - AI takes advantage of the terrain and tech buildings as well as
using many parts of the map to their advantage.  Only 2/3 entrances into
bases however can make it easy to turtle.
- Triggers: 10/15 - Day/Night loop which doesn't seem to work, but some nice sounds
worth turning the music off for.

Total: 84/100




-> Lion's Review:

Original Concept: 18/20 Realistic layout, although player starting positions are standard 4-corners.
Eye-Candy:  27/30 Good cliff work (a few minor tiling errors), nice building placement, trees, and water add lots of interest.
Fun Factor:  16/20 Lots of strategic possibilities make this one replayable. No AI pathfinding problems.
Balance:  12/15 A little light on the ore n gems. Would have liked to have seen more, but overall map balance is good.
Triggers:             12/15    Triggers work...

This is a 4 player map placed in Desert theatre , resources are moderate and there are some
tech's reserved for you to capture it. Map features day-night script,eye candy details,ambient
sounds and lights.Lots of building to garrison your infantry in. Adequate room to build your
base , lots of choke points and strategic passages.

INSTALL:
To install "Ascension" on your computer, just unzip file "Ascension 2-4[arissdj].zip" into
your RA2 folder. Default folder is C:\WESTWOOD\RA2 . Then start up the game and select the map
from the list.
