I've just bought Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional and can make any kind of pdf files. Just send me .doc, .xls, .ppt or even web pages, I'll convert them to pdf.

Or people could just use one of the free tools that install a "PDF Printer" to your system so you can PDFify anything simply by printing it Wink Like http://www.primopdf.com/ .

Then of course there's [url=http://www.pdf995.com/">PDF995[/url], which also does the same thing. Smile

I prefer FlashPaper to all of the other options though. #Tongue

I don't personally see much need for a PDF when you can just use online documentation anyway, which is easier and works for those too lazy to install a PDF reader.

(Edit: Changed mind about HTML since I wanted my sig centered) #Tongue

http://www.openoffice.org

Writer can export to PDF, and uses several open filetypes. And it's open-source, unlike the other suggestions.
What's wrong with plain, unformatted files, though?

Agreed w/ both Carnivean & Clazzy. I personally use HTML for most documentation I write, mainly because I can. Very Happy  And, because it's pretty easy to convert a bunch of htm files into a CHM.

Heh, i use open office for all my word processing etc... needs. Ther's no need for PDF unless you have masses and masses of files that you want convertin into 1 single file.
