It wont show!

when i import a w3d model that is of one of the characters from Renegade, like havoc for example. i go over and run the script so i can open up w3d files in GMAX. but when i open it.....there is nothign there. this operation works just fine with vehicles, buildings, plants, ect. but not characters. why am i doing wrong, or what am i not doing that i should be?

i was just using it as an example. what i really want is to get the GDI soldier so i can mess around with it and make it look cooler.

yeah, i have a Marine skin from the Halo PC marine and i would like to just fix up a characters model so the skin would fit it and look right.....and that reminds me i should prolly get skins for his gun too.....but will someone PLZ just answer my original question?
