perhaps miyazaki means because It sounds dismissive and like carnivean said insincere.

it dosent take alot of effort to type "Thank you" or at least "thanks" so i suppose it does show that the person saying it can't be bothered to even thank you properly and thus probably dosent care.

People usually use it in online games, because those 0.2 seconds they need to type the 'n' and the 'k' disrupts their 'miromanaging' (read: continuously following the same scheme, every game, rushing everybody to death).

Never play Generals online, folks!
