My twisted thoughts on the tiberium storyline.
Millions of years ago the scrin created Earth and it's solar system and sowed the seeds of life. Whilst playing god the scrin unintentionally created a creature that began to destroy them. It destroyed their bodies killing billions of scrin. They soon realised that to escape destruction they would require a form that was immune to the virus. They already had the ability to download and transfer their own conciousness, it was how the generations lived on. Many scrin are thousands of years old whilst the bodies they inhabit are merley centuries old. The scrin abandoned this planet to a caretaker being they created. They would return when a suitable host race had developed with the required immunities and they escaped to the other side of the galaxy.
The caretaker being was supposed to guide the evolution of the human race into something the scrin could use. Over the course of millions of years species developed that were unsuitable and so the caretaker destroyed them, resetting the planet as it were. The caretaker began afresh and the resulting genetics evolved into a multitude of varied species. The most prominent was the human race, little more than animals back then the human race continued to evolve, prompted by the caretaker.
However, with that evolution came intelligence and with that came power. The caretaker being could no longer directly control the humans yet they worshipped him, throughout the ages of man every race, and every culture has it's god, this is the caretaker being, this is Kane.
The caretaker lost direct control of the species and, uncontrolled, the human race evolved at an even faster rate. The caretaker watched and waited for the time to retake control of this wayward race and once again guide them to their destiny.
Now Kane has Nod, and blindly leads us to our own assimilation by the scrin who are returning to inhabit the bodies of the human race and continue their dominance of the galaxy. Tiberium is from the original scrin homeworld. It is genetically similar to the scrin and is required to convert our carbon based bodies into non-carbon based entities. The scrin require this in order to transfer from their current body into the new one much like a computer program. QUICK_EDIT
