i renamed and turned E1 into something else not buildable. i made a
dummy and replaced all E1 entries in ai.ini with its name and every time
i start i get an internal error.


2, why dont people make a rock patch for TS?

If you're trying to make E1 not built, just give it techlevel=-1. Don't bother changing the AI, you're only asking for trouble there.

2) Because PD is a little busy right now, and no one else matches up to his uber exe-haxxing skillz. Or whatever he does. I don't ask, I just drool over the results.

The game relies on the [E1] for some pieces of code like survivors for buildings etc, hardcoded drop pod things etc, its best to clone the E1 and make the original one unbuildable, just edit the clone and make it replace the original role of the E1. Also the same applies to some units like E2, Technician and engineer for some code related things.
