Breaking news: The connection between
Subject description: The RA universe and the Tiberium universe.
There isn't one!
The events of Tiberium Dawn take place in the 90's while the Events of RA2 take place in 2000. Hense seeing as there was no Tiberium in RA2 they are not connected in any way or form.
RA1 was supposed to be a prequel to TD, hense all the crap that was in it: The hint of the formation of GDI, Kane, some other stuff that escapes me at the moment. When RA2 was released all connections were broken and it became its own franchise.
I noticed that the creation of CnC3 and the hint Yuri *Shudders* would be the third side brought up the fact that no one knows this. If you did know this, than I am the biggest dork of all time. QUICK_EDIT

I'm sure RA2 occurs in the 1970's, hence the retro style and GI's. If it was in 2000 then the Allies would be using Marines and such. The third side is Scrin. Kane appearing in RA1 was only for a teaser, nobody should take it litterally. _________________
What bothered me, was that, the soviets had the mammoth in RA1, yet the GDI had it in TD, The light tank was the allies in RA1, yet it was NOD's in TD! GDI still had the medium tank, yet the heavy tank seems to have been forgotten in time... What REALLY confuses me, is that Einstein GIVES you the chronoshift device in RA2! But the allies ALREADY had it in RA1! This leads me to beleive that we should think of RA2 as a good game, but not in the least a command and conquer.
EDIT: plus, the medium, light, and mammoth tanks are obsolete in RA2, and are replaced by the apocolypse and the grizzly, but reappear in TD... _________________

Your reasoning for them being wrong doesn't work, but you're actually right in saying the storylines aren't connected.
People constantly cite the woman at the end of Red Alert (who mentions about the founding of a Global Defence Initiative) but GDI was:
1. Formed in 1995.
2. Was a secret organisation prior to that date.
The appearence of Joe Kucan in the Soviet missions was just to keep the fans going and Kane was never part of the story proper (according to the founders of WW). _________________

umn, why allies has light tank, and medium tank is that they trust to advanced technology, and into numerous weapon selections, like Nod (Scrin tech, more units than GDI had, but weaker). Soviets need only few types of weapons, but they're strong, and more firepowered than any Allied opposite like GDI (smal tank selection, unlike Nod, but 2 Mammoth tanks could pwn 4 light tanks)
and it's quite true, that RA2 messed up the whole thing, Renegade 2 would've explained it all, I think...

Clazzy, thank you. The GDI was a secret organization, more like Mi6, the KGB or the FBI, untill a failed assassination attempt on Saddam Hussain before the Kuwaiti-Iraqi war. Then the U.N. formed the GDI to cover up the assassination. _________________ PPM's Reichstrollfuherer, 236th Trollenparties brigade. QUICK_EDIT

9.2 What is COMMAND & CONQUER: RED ALERT?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
RED ALERT is the next Command & Conquer game from Westwood Studios, and
is expected to release in the 4th quarter of 1996. A FAQ for RED ALERT
will be released later on that covers the details of this PREQUEL to
COMMAND & CONQUER: TIBERIAN DAWN.
Yeah, prequel. There's your connection straight from the official site. I don't need anything more.
RA2 doesn't exist for me. It doesn't fit anywhere. The tech is all off for a sequel to RA1, and Tanya, who was a European mercenary, is suddenly an elite in the American army, AND still the same age? Nope, sorry, RA2's just way off, that's all, end of story.
Not that I don't enjoy playing it, but storyline-wise, it doesn't fit anywhere. _________________ QUICK_EDIT

RA2 really doesn't fit anywhere. It's like an alternate universe. But it was a good game , i won't say it was bad. I enjoyed playing it. _________________

I so agree you, you managed to take the words right out of my mind (as I couldn't do that myself ), Nyerguds... _________________
