A long time ago I came here and asked you if it was possible to make a graphics update for the game that would work on the official servers. You said that you couldn't modify the voxels and have them work online. I did a little bit of editing and so far it all worked fine. Anywho, I'm probably going to do a graphics upgrade by ripping all quality vxls and shps i find from mods. If you have any good voxels to replace the ones that came with ts, please post them here... I'll put the upgrade on a torrent and see how well it goes...

But only you can see it. It's perfectly easy to change the graphics, you just can't change the ini files (with exclusion of theme.ini and possibly some others).

If you've ever asked the question before, that'll be the response someone has given.

I've seen his topic, Clazzy... and believe it or not, no one gave him the correct answer. Some people pointed TSR :S and other crappy replies in the topic... He wasn't lucky there.

Anyway, I'm still editing his post for the sake of the respect of people over here. Anyway, read THIS for future reference.

Learn to make quality voxels and shps by yourself...
That might be the only way to avoid getting to everybody's blacklists...

Looks like you've all missed his point! (or I'm just a stupid idiot that is making a point (The stupid idiot part is correct, for I love drowning monkies in acid)).

You can actually make modifications to the normal TS terrain within FinalSun itself. Ever heard of CTRL-C + CTRL-V ? Yes! Most of you have! And you can use it in FS! You can place pieces of terrain in such a way that they overlap each other, but you can also simply use ctrl-c on a square with a certain size and then paste it.

I will not give hints or tips on this, though. Find out for yourself what looks nice and what doesn't Wink

As for the voxel ripping, DON'T do it. And I mean it.

You're the first one...

But, no, no, no...

No ripping voxels! Styles won't match, you might need graphical enhancements that can only work with an actual mod, etc... Too much trouble, plus you've got the entire community (including the mod leaders) on your back, comming to get you, for you robbed their mixes and threw together something fluffy that smells like human excrement and is virtually worthless. Come on, don't do it, that's my advice.

Oh s...
This sounds very much like my personal mod only for personal usage.

Ive ripped the s... out of quality mods and put it together into my own mod but not with half a..ed coding and many other graphical improvements like full usage of Voxel debries, particle systems on warheads, a brutal Tiberian Sun AI, and much much more. Im at 11,3Mb on my WinRAR archive for the mod now.

Currently im working on Improving the Easy AI by removing all Suicide=yes on its TeamTypes and about to check what happens if I make OnlyTargetHouseEnemy=no on everything becaus in RA2 the AI attacks not only one player but multiple but with lowered efficency.

Personaly if I where to release my mod but without all the ripped graphics and voxels I would have it as a Open Source mod becaus its not realy based on anything so I would anyone take the "coding part" in my mod like with my TeslaZap tutorial here in the TS Tutorial Factory. http://www.ppmsite.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11265

By the way who wants me to post a Tutorial for Redalert2 & Yuris Revenge for implenting Tiberian Suns "Fire on building system"
