Subject description: Yay! The EALA first podcast that I've enjoyed ever!
Reply with quote  Mark this post and the followings unread

EALA has recently released their second Podcast for Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars. This podcast covers tiberium, the red, green and blue zones... how the gameplay changes in these zones. There are some interesting concepts being discussed, although the game seems that it will have a lot of rush, specially red zones, where there will be a lot of tiberium and a lot of people building tanks and high tech units fast.

The tiberium silos are back, so you'll be able to steal money from other people, although I hope EVA won't bore me with 'Silos are needed' garbage often.

They've said they'll make a big announcement on the Leipzig event, so let's pray for the return of Joe Kucan as Kane.

Download the Podcast and share your comments here.

And finally, Hexetic, from PlanetCnC has done a nice job on posting the best points said in the podcast and I won't repeat his job here.

Thank god for that link for us 56Kers who really just want the info instead of the bullshit. Anyways, heres my rant about it.

- Silos are IN, and you can steal enemy money out of them.-
Good. Piss those Gen/RA2 rusher noobs off and keep them busy. Let them feel what a real CC is. Smile

- Zone Troopers (possibly among other infantry units) aren't vulnerable to Tiberium fields, but others are.-
Of course, probably some Nod units like the Chem Warrior(Pray for Chemmy's return),Commando, and the Scrin's infs will most likely be invunurable.

- Even totally farmed-out fields of Tiberium will eventually grow back, but you can't just expect to nurse your "starter" field through the whole match. Tiberium harvesting is faster in the begining of the match when there's a lot of it on the map.
The same way they 'grew back' in Tiberian Sun? please. Thats rather funny. TS tiberium took forever to grow back and it never moved from the stupid blossom tree....

- Nod plays the "good guys" (sorta) in the Yellow Zones, where they bring food etc. to the neglected poor folk who live there. Champions of the oppressed and all that, yadda yadda.
As par Nod is the good ones, its time you GDI lovers realised that the saviors of the world are Nod.

- EA is trying to make C&C3 a "fast-paced" game Ooh wonderful lets keep the games 10 minutes long on underdetailed tournament maps. Gee, im just hopping up and down with joy. ZERG RUSH!

- At Leipzig, EA will be showcasing the first real-time multiplayer GDI versus Nod match, and there will be a "big announcement" that Mike Verdu thinks "will mean a *lot* to Command & Conquer fans"-There are only two possibilities here.
I:Joe Kucan's back(this'd be the most plausable AS the Nod units are going to be shown at a skirmish with GDI*Giggles*)at the helm of our glorious Brotherhood and lead to victory over the GDI scum.

II:Franks doing the music. Call me batshit crazy but Frank's page isnt exactly active, and EA could have him under a gag if he is, of course, to make the fans go 'OMG!1')

End rant..
Anyways, when is this Leipzig thing?(whatever, I dotn know how to spell that stupid name. Who names a city Leipzig?! Bloody Fritz.) Im looking forward to the bombshell EA supposidly has for us. Very Happy

26th of August? Its in about a months time, at the end of August, I know that much.

Yeah, this "big announcement", the only thing which pops into my mind, is.. Joe Kucan. And for me, it will be big, as it'll truely decide whether I'd buy the game or not.

I do love how Nod aren't always percieved the bad-guys, I like that a lot. If you have people believe in you, you can have a deadly force.

I still would like more Tiberium related stuff, rather than just Superman-eske Crystal Palaces.
Surely it couldn't be THAT hard to add a few fona and fuana from the TS/FS concepts?
If they won't do, a mod sure as heck will.

And all the fast-paced stuff sounds good. I just hope they don't skimp on the slow-paced stuff. I personally love building up a delicious base..

Hopefully EA won't create another generals rip-off bcuz' if they do i'm not even thinking of buying C&C 3 knowing it's another generals rip-off, and after all, this can b EA's redemption or damnation for all true C&C nostalgic vets like myself after all. #Tongue lmao

I think the 'big announcement' will just be showing the scrin as the 3rd side.

Thats a good point.. they've never confirmed it before, (not officially saying the third side is the alien race known as the Scrin).. so they probably will now.

Thats what I'd *like* it to be..
Although, it could also be that its simply Jim Bob as Kane.. Mike Verdu wasn't THAT estatic when he mentioned it.

Its just EA has had a tendency of building things up, and then destroying them with an anti-climax.. so I'm not going to try and get my hopes up this time.

Maybe him and Joe arent really on good terms? Or he just doesnt know what Kane means to the fans...or really give a damn.

I want my CABAL though.
