The infantry in that buggy don't look very protected.. Wolverine would be a different story, I'm sure..
I won't deny that the stuff seen in these screenies is good.
I do like the Tiberium Fog in the mini-trenches.
I'm starting to get used to the ground effects of the Tiberium, its quite interesting. Some of the crystals seem a bit off though, some bad edging.
What I don't like, is the complete lack of Tiberium lifeforms and plantlife. They should be a BIG part of the red zones. _________________ If there is a problem on the forums, PM me. QUICK_EDIT
Btw, did anyone notice GDI vehicle architecture is getting.. more.. curvy?
Nope, I think there are some nice defined edges which I love. I will say that I do like the designs of the GDI tanks.. I just don't like how they've reverted back from mechs. I'd rather have a modified titan.
However, the Orca is another story. I'd personally prefer a few more defined edges on that.. The curviness makes it.. seem ackward to me.

Agreed as well. I'd expect to see mutants everywhere, a red zone should be a 'if you think you're alone, you aren't' kinda place.
Think you hit the nail on the head with the red zone comment. A red zone should be alive with god-knows-what. And plantlife to which, you can barely relate to as plantlife. I think that its this which helps provide some of the greatest terraforming powers. Blossom Trees and actual Tiberium plantlife, which continually give off Tiberium spores.
Tiberium Viens and Vienhole monsters also pumped out a lot of Tiberium gas into the air. (And they were shown in TD.. so if EA is going to skip TS, they still can't skip viens and vienholes..) _________________ If there is a problem on the forums, PM me. QUICK_EDIT

in my personal opinion, i think these could be fake-shots. i dont think the tiberium will look like that ingame. and if you look at it closely it lookes like it has ferns in it, lol QUICK_EDIT

Yea, there are some straight lines.. but there's alot more.. roundishness.. than in TD vehicles.. Look at the M1 Abrams; pretty boxy, look at the 'Predator' Medium Tank; rounder, less.. boxiness, the turret is.. rounder, same with the Mammoth Tank and the APC..
Hell, the TD APC is essentially a box with a angle on the front..
However.. I'd like to see some Hover Tanks, they.. ARE.. the best for rough-terrain.. and water.. AND vein fields.. _________________

Hover vehicles like the Crusader in Gen Beta for crossing water would be VERY interesting(only hover when crossing dangers like waterways or tiberium crystal formations.), instead of 24-7 Hover like TS's Hover MLRS. Too much strain on the unit itself. _________________ PPM's Reichstrollfuherer, 236th Trollenparties brigade. QUICK_EDIT
I see what you mean about the units being a bit more rounder.. but they're not literally rounder, they just have more angles and more shape, which I personally love.
Nod, I am anticipating smooth lines and curves prodominant in the designs. Compared to this, GDI will not be curvy. I think the design for the tanks is brilliant.
I do like the turret designs for both units.. other than, with the Mammoth Tank.. the barrels are embedded in the turret.. So how is it going to change the angle of the barrel? Aim higher, increase range and targetting? _________________ If there is a problem on the forums, PM me. QUICK_EDIT
I hope they add all this back! And more Tiberium lifeforms, its just to plain without them!
In he first picture near the buggy at the top right it looks like two apc's! _________________ My name is Shadow... I am Lord of the Shadows! NOD rules!!!!
They are APC's.. although in my opinion the models are too small. Zone troopers wouldn't fit in them, and ordinary infantry would need to crawl to get in there.
It should be a lot bigger. _________________ If there is a problem on the forums, PM me. QUICK_EDIT
Yeah they need to be alot bigger, the wheels themself take up most of the room, it needs to be longer and bigger! _________________ My name is Shadow... I am Lord of the Shadows! NOD rules!!!!
@Muldrake: so should the tanks. Look at the Zone trooper next to them! he's lika a giant...is EA trying to mimic WW by making over-sized infantry...again? _________________
I love those two pics, they are just great! I can't wait for the NOD units!!! _________________ My name is Shadow... I am Lord of the Shadows! NOD rules!!!!
Chain-Link fence should have.. become obselete.. tiberium mutations capable of destroying.. concrete walls.. are running around.. and GDI puts Chain-Link fencing 'round their bases!? _________________
oh, and did anyone notice that the new Component Tower still has those "projections" which when build next to concrete wall attachs the tower to the wall, just like in TS. _________________
It is a pretty much clone design of the TS one. Which I personally wouldn't mind keeping, at least keeping a Component Tower, but those screens which show that are older than the ones which show the GDI.. "Guard Tower".. _________________ If there is a problem on the forums, PM me. QUICK_EDIT
I noticed alot of people were saying infantry couldn't fit into the tanks
Come ON people! It's 2040! Tanks are automated these days!
err, that's my explanation.
Hmm well, you might be right for specialized vehicles like scout drones, mobile Anti-Missile systems etc. But I think tanks of the future would be more like 1 personnel AFVs. Future tech will enable the tank pilot to lock on, fire, control, and manage the system all in the HUD and joystick(?).
I don't think the infantry is too blown out of proportion:
Zone troopers are wearing power armor like the one in Fallout and Fallout 2 (man, I miss those games) so they're like 8'4 tall with those things. QUICK_EDIT

ever thought about how large the infantry would be when NOT in "Zone"-suit? _________________ Please, read the signature rules of the forum. QUICK_EDIT
