Hi! I tried to make an old school TD guard tower and here it is! Again, sorry for the graininess, it's hand made Sad .
i haven't made build up animations yet.. I'm daunted at the task of making one entirely from scratch for the moment Very Happy .

can anyone recommend a FREE 3d modeling program? I read in early threads that there's an easier way of making SHP anims and that's by making 3d models out of them first. Confused

anyway, here it is!

The right side of the tower could be raised just a hair to correct a bit of "Balance" error in the tower's Upper area, but otherwise its...uh..so so. I'd give it about a 3 out 5...Fix that one issue and I'll up it. Smile

i tried it. but the interface sucks. 3ds max is best, but GMAX is pretty similar

Maya > All, if you can fork out the $7k (or your friends love you very much).
I've also heard blenders supposed to be good, but I really wouldn't recomend it if you have experience using any other program, as the interface is... Interesting... Being so used to the ease of handling in Maya I ditched blender after an hour of trying to select a vertice without sucess.

Hmm, I prefer Cinema 4D to Maya, though only because tis what I know better. :p

For free though, I recommend [url=http://www.amabilis.com">3D Canvas[/url].
