Jeepney Civilian Vehicle [TS]
Overview:
Name:Jeepney
Producer:Sarao Motors, Lippad Motors, Gasat Motors..... probably 50 more
For:Philippines,Papua New Guinea,Fiji
Armaments:none (although jeepney drivers often bring steel pipes with them or jack knives)
Max Speed:~50mph on road, 35mph on conter, 18mph on rough
After the 2nd world war, the americans left behind many army jeeps in the maritime country of the Philippines. To sustain the need of the war battered metropolis of Manila, some filipino mechanics and mechanical know-hows converted the military jeeps into 'Jeepneys'. The jeepney sports a much extended rear chassis which can be used as a passenger compartment. while old jeeps used to be made of steel and, further jeepney productions made in the Philippines (using surplus motors from Japan and the U.S.) were made mostly from aluminum.
During my childhood here in the Philippines, I kind of admired the jeepney because it used to signify the creativity of Filipinos. But the Philippine jeepney hasn't improved at all since the 1950's. It always had that design and same method of construction with no innovations whatsoever. Some Filipinos say that it stands for their resillience (the jeepney has a long lifespan because it's rugged) but now that I'm in college and all grown up, it doesn't stand for anything more than their stagnancy and refusal to change.
Trivia:The Jeepney as a wide array of uses, as a farming truck, as a mass transportation unit, as a family vehicle, as a military vehicle, as a rebel vehicle, as a blockade.... etc.
Believe it or not, 23 people can be crammed inside a jeepney. (and that's only normal) I think the jeepney crew do that to maximize their fare income but It really bugs me.. A LOT.
Almost all jeepneys have that protruding foot rests near their rear lights. It's for male hangers-on to stand on when the jeepneys are already full, that makes 23+6 maximum people to carry!
When my father brought me along to the remote provinces, I saw jeepneys there that carry EVEN more!
that's because the farmers and late passengers can sit on the roof of the jeepney.. that allows 23+6+15 more passengers! WOW!
Still, I think it's a worthy vehicle to be turned into a voxel!
Extra:Jeepneys still existed in 2055 because some chinese-filipino from the Philippines who migrated to New Xiao Mei brought with them schematics to make these very old vehicles. Sometimes IVI assembles these for sale to the lower C and D classes who live in New Xiao Mei (explains why they exist in C&C TS)

Hmm, well Im not really a nationalistic person in the strictest sense. In fact, oftentimes I don't really care what the filipinos do to their country at all. So I guess that makes me unnationalistic at all.
I used to be very nationalistic especially when I was in high school. But you'll get tired of it too when:
1.) the politics in your country is so f*cked up that movie celebrities always opt to run for senatorial, presidential, mayor positions and WIN a LANDSLIDE over those who graduated from this country's best universities with PhDs on Economics, Public Administration and Political Science.
2.) You watch your parents waste their lives trying to optimize this 'nation's sheep (the masses) by means of education and entrepreneurship IN VAIN because the vast majority of these people would rather stay in their miserable poverty.
3.) Any attempt by idealistic people to advance this country have been thwarted by the masses because of crab mentality.
I've adapted what the other chinese/filipino-chinese view: All that really matters is the Family business and the Name of the clan.
Although sometimes I can't help but stiill feel concerned with the eventual fate of this country
Anyway, enough of that! any more suggestions on the Jeepney? does it look good in-game? is it too fuzzy? too big maybe?
And 44 passengers can really ride in a Jeepney!!

LOL!
Well, maybe you could decrease it. Imagine the pip scale on this thing ingame.
Well, apart from the flag - not a bad touch, but most countries would either be affiliated to GDI or Nod, so a blank screen would be better, everything is ok QUICK_EDIT
politics is corrupt... and they still say... population is making the Philippines more poverty... and then passes a bill for birth control... tsk tsk... "human resources is the riches resource"...
well IVI in real it maybe lot of ppl riding it... but in TS point of view... it should be limit it by 5 or 6... _________________
Ugh I hate the look of the Jeepney it blinds my eyes to look at it. _________________ "Those who want to live, let them fight, and those who do not want to fight in this world of eternal struggle do not deserve to live." QUICK_EDIT
As of the moment the Jeepney voxel I made seems too short to some people... ok.. I'll make a longer one and variations too.
@ Universal
BTW, sure the jeepney looks like a hodge podge piece of contraption but apart from the primitive looks of it, that scrap of metal has helped the filipinos build their economy (somewhat )
and is the means of hundreds of thousands of people to eat (jeepney drivers earn their bread solely by driving these things . If you can create a better voxel of the jeepney than that, be my guest! QUICK_EDIT

Absolutely true, i have doubt's about the politics in Phil. first they say they'd make phil. a better country but they try, but it leads to failure as there are also other phil. politicians that offer money and result in bribery which then leads the bill in a deny.
I am still alive, i just lurk. _________________
