Well this is my first post here and I'd like to put a new voxel(s) on the cutting board. Sharpen your knives...

Here is my laser artillery...
There are deployed and undeployed voxels included.

hopefully you all like it.

(Note: Voxels has been resized since picture)

I dont really understand how a beam of light can be used as ballistic artillery.... It takes an INCREDIBLE amount of gravity to bend light like that.. something like 8.8x10^3 m/s^2 or something similar.
Good voxel though.

dude, it is a game, to hell the reality (I'm serious.)
Realism and PC games are not compatible. If you want 100% realism in the RTS or 3D action, go to your country's army...

But very good voxel indeed Smile

But like I said on FS, even light cannot be bet in RA2. Unless you make it fire like an Obelisk or sonething, but then it would be a movebale defence rather than artillery.

and what? one FS mod has Tesla Artillery that fires a long-range electric bolt, so why can't we have laser artillery?
Anyway, you can code it to fire whatever you want: electricity, laser, bullet, plasma bolt or even mammoth tusks... Laughing

even though it is for a game, you still can't throw all science away. We could as well have Flying Fortress Elefants who fly by striking air with their ears Confused

The vehicle is nice, but you could use more colour varieties, coz you seem to use only one shade from each color.

Yes, but this is cool and unrealistic, whereas flying elephant fortresses are ridiculous.

it's a good voxel harv! looks very destructive.. Smile

@ Dreadlord: but I have to say that not just because it's a game means that we can just play waaaaay too fantastic ideas Rolling Eyes , I mean yes we could do that it's up to you, but doesn't it seem light bending, flying elephants and whatever non-physics based stuff too far-fetched to you? Well, that's just me I guess; I try to make stuff at least based on some real world mechanics Very Happy To each his own I guess Very Happy

Anyway, this vehicle harv made looks like an anti-capital warship weapon of some sort. Maybe it should be the ultimate anti-aircraft weapon.

Ever thought that there could be a large mirror hovering around the earth in order to deflect the lazer to the correct targer? #Tongue

See anything is possible... just improbable Wink

Good vxl Smile

I just had to say this... The deployed anim of course needs to be (drum roll) SHP!! And that looks very nice.

interesting, but I also agree with Anthony. If you want to bend the light in such an angle, it's almost impossible. And realism has a bit of priority in games

Not in RA2.

Deploy anim only, once it's deployed it can be a vxl.

*points at Siege Chopper*

( BTW, Muldrake; Mind.. you know.. unbanning me? Confused )

This is what he said man - the animation only has to be SHP.

BTH, the way someone makes smoke, can that me a way to make ligth bend? make it remap or red or whatevercolor and make it spawn evry 2 frame?
BTW a nice voxel! 10/10

Dude, light would look terrible bent, not to mention it would need an insane ammount of energy simply to bend it Neutral

bent #Tongue
And you could refract/reflect it to the light to change direction.

that is a possibility...

But, where would you put the mirror to refract the light? On a satellite?

You didn't see the point, in RA2 (YR) light cann't be bend. If you make a "smokelight" and make it spawn very often (evry 2 frame) the it will make an ILLUSION of the light being bent. And yes, I know that there take fouces like a black hole to bend light!
After all, i know my stuf about the univers Very Happy
No matter what you skeptics say, this is a cool voxel, and 'I'm sure that with my idea, light CAN be bended in RA2 (YR)

Or flying Elefant tanks from WWII. Shocked
Which drop deadly shells on you from high above...and fly by...moving their treads? O_o

Flying Elephants are WWI silly, by WWII they'd realised it was a dumbo idea #Tongue
