[WIP] RA2: World Conflict
Subject description: What do you think about it, any hints, tips or comments you want to make?
Hey, I am fairly new to the modding of RA2. although, i've been editing it and experimenting for ages lol. Don't worry, i know my way round of things, sorta.
About the mod. bofore I get into too much detail, This is a RA2 mod, NOT YR. Unless i finally find the YR add-on in my local shops, but that's if i decide to make it YR or keep it as RA2 only... or both
Anyways, I am still at the planning stage of it all, although hopefully, me posting my ideas down and you people could help me along 'n' stuff. The mod will have other people's voxels and shps, mainly because the vxl making is confusing, and im too lazy. i WILL credit the makers u got my word on that.
So here it goes, a few ideas and plans:
NOTE: These plans/ideas will be changed, added and edited, so keep an eye on this post. I'll tell you when i changed the post and what i changed + added etc.
Countries will have their own vehicles (aircraft, tanks, naval etc.), plus shared units. for example; the allied countries will have MLRS's.
The 'Bullet' effect will be added on bullet guns, like the GI's Gun, and the sniper etc.
Different Rockets for different vehicles.
Sides will be the nearest balanced as i can get.
Heliminers. I saw a tutorial of this in a topic in the tutorial bit n i thought i'd add this to the mod. whether its first time release in a mod i don't know, but it gunna be on it. gunna have to experiment it a little see if it dnt need landing n taking off on every ore square, chunk, bit, whatever.
Special Paratroops for Paradrops.
Airstrikes, possibally i'll make a B2 Bomber drop a Nuke or 1,2 or 3 A-10's droping a few bombs. or both
BUT IF i can, these will be as specials, like on the very first C&C or C&C Generals.
any more ideas that will come up in my head then i'll say it.

But this sounds pretty balanced out and thought out. Good luck with the mod.
well.. i have been reading the 'readme' files for the voxels and shps and they did say you may use them in ur mods but only if you credit me, which i will

well the heli-miner was off a C&C Renegade voxel pack. i'm still thinking whether to have heli-miners or keep to the bog-standard miners. although they may look weird because the chinooks are flying when i took the shots _________________ Geoff (Geoff17391)
ok, i'd thought i'd better give a quick update of what i added and planning to do etc. so here i goes.
I've added Tony's Cruisers and made them fire AA Bullet Effect Cannons and Torpedos to fire at navel units.
changed the Heli-miner's voxel although i'm thinking of scrapping the idea of a Heli-miner
Changed the original hornet voxel to Yuri 06's version of the hornet
more screenies are coming soon guys.
Before i carry on, i'd wanna say that i know that this is a bit of a noobish mod, where i basically use other people's work and turning it into my own really. This is just a practise for me to do the coding and creating more units, and weapons, by coding. Also there is alot out there where many people would like a few things out of 1 mod, and few things from another, all into one. Hope no one minds me doing all this, because i wanna be certain i can go on with this because i don't wanna get into trouble with u guys.

yeah.. i am having a slight issue with the tracers because AA is fine, just as i make it AG is a problem, but i'm thinking of scrapping the AG idea and just have it AA only.
i do have screenshots of the battleships firing and they look mighty awesome. im currently on another computer right now so i cant attach them. i would go on my computer with the screenies on, but i'm feeling lazy and football is about to start

try not to use copy/paste buildings, at least not those obvious ones (pillbox on prism tower...)

Graphics to the 'Bullet Effect' have change (see attached screenshot 'bullet.png'). They now have three different sizes, small (for small arms, eg. GI's), medium (for mounted and heavier machine guns), and large (for the big guns, eg. battleship's AA cannon)
NEW NAME FOR MOD, 'RA2: World Conflict'.
Hope you like whats done so far, because there's loads more to come still.

well i must say, the airstrip's runway does seem dark... so dark that the black eagle is camoflaged into it. so i will edit it a bit make it lighter etc. _________________ Geoff (Geoff17391)
Ok, well i've changed the airstip to, The I-Man99's soviet airpad
Also the black eagle is temporary until I decide what planes the soviets would have. Although I might decide to keep the black eagle to the soviets, i dont know yet.
Well heres a screenshot of the new soviet airpad look. hope you all like the better look.
