IVI MRP-T16 Ma'Yi / Bing'Yi
Subject description: design based on pre 2nd Tibwar flame tanks
The Ma 'Yi is highly effective against infantry, having a powerful formation breaking capability. Even power-armored troops are reluctant to face the Ma'Yi in open terrain. The Old 1st-Tiberium War flame tanks were outdated and were phased out with the dawn of the events leading to the 2nd tiberium war. With the developments of subterranean traversing technology. the old flame tanks were deemed obsolete. However as mentioned before, the 'Devil's Tongue' was meant for quick sudden death assault on unpaved GDI bases. Devil's Tongues however suffer miserably against heavy armor and even against light armor squads. As such they weren't designed for open warfare. The Ma'Yi's design was similar to the old flame tanks but now with the advent of re-forming ceramic technology by Ty-Resurreccion WARTEC labs, new protection is available for adequate fuel tank protection. Moreover, IVI's Micro fusion Reactor technology rapid terrain movement has become possible for even a heavy load carrying tank like the Ma'Yi. IVI developed the Ma'Yi as a formation breaker. It's flamethrowers don't use just ordinary fuel but a specialized lab-formed Organic Butanol derivative that is extremely flammable not to mention unstable (it reacts exothermically with rapid reactions the moment it contacts metals and skin). The formula is ignited by a special weak plasma induction. The resulting flames are so intense that prolonged salvos might raise temperatures enough to eventually melt the firing mechanism. Moreover, while the Ma'Yi/Bing'Yi isn't designed to fight similar heavily armored tanks, it can damage re-forming ceramic armor with consistent bursts.
