Dispite the use of ea.com subdomains, all content of the section is in german! I have no reason of why do they use german for it. Nod doesn't have anything useful, but GDI has some flashy goodies and a bunch of german words. Kampf Dem Terror! Ahh.. I'm in terror, totally scared by this weird language! Help me!!!
Jokes apart, I don't really see anything so interesting on it, since, in the end, both take you to EA german's C&C 3 official site. Anyway, I hope you guys can take some good conclusions and help me with this hard translation task. QUICK_EDIT

btw, just as a sidenote: While the German on those pages is correct, it sounds overly forced. It was probably translated from sheet by a company, not by somebody familiar with the subject.
If the same company also translated the game itself, we'll probably see a whole lot of stupid unit names again...
There are even some errors on the german Nod page ("Schlie dich uns an").

One guy from EA germany (who is overseeing the tranlation) allready postet in some german CnC foren, asking people about the translation of names...
But some german names still sound silly...
My German isn't very good, but I think he complains about the Secret Shrine being called "Shrine of Hiding"
About the Stealth Tank:
What is wrong with Stealth-Panzer? Stealth is as far as I know a strictly American word with no known direct translation, and Stealth-Panzer is as a name, just as bad as Stealth Tank is in english.

Actually, it's "Shrine of Secrets" vs. "Secret Shrine". You may think this is nitpicking, but imagine an entire game full of such close-but-not-quite-right names, add in sub-par localized audio with annoying voices and lost wit all over the place, and you realize it is a big deal.
Just compare English YR to the German one, and you'll know what I'm talking about.

i think "Tarnpanzer" would be a better name (it was also used in TD), i just dont like to mix german and english words :/

That is actually a wonderful example for Bansh and MCV!
The German name used for the APC is BMT.
BMT stands for "Bewaffneter Mannschaftstransporter".
APC stands for "Armored Personnel Carrier".
BMT translates to "Armed Personnel Carrier".
...close. But not quite. Especially not since the APC was actually unarmed. German C&Cs are full of such inaccuracies. It just destroys a good deal of atmosphere. If you don't know the English names, it's stupid, but you accept it. If you do know the originals, you just want to kill whoever is responsible for the localization.
