Judeau has released Tiberian Sun Dusk 0.15, a mod that is set after the Firestorm events, bringing GDI, Nod and the famous Scrin faction to the battle. In this version, the Scrin faction is still not very useful, since it lacks the arsenal that the other factions have. GDI and Nod have a big set of new units, improved superweapons and naval units as well.

The mod is quality, inovating and very fun... but now I advise everyone to look out for these nukes. If your enemy builds a nuke silo, use every single unit possible and impossible against it, before it's too late. The screenshots below will explain that and much more. Click on them for full size picture:

The version 0.15 is not the first release of the mod. In the end of the last year, Judeau released TSD 0.14 and I forgot to post a news about it and include in it in the mod of the year poll (won by Return of the Dawn 2.6). I am sorry. For the fans of the mod, this new version brings some new units such as the Obelisk Of Harmony, a new cool looking menu, some improved voxels, such as the mammoth tank made by Chriz, several ballance changes and bug fixes.

Enjoy it and download it HERE. For more information about Tiberian Sun Dusk, visit its forums.

As part of playing TSD I have to say that this mod is one which has a harmonious balance between the two sides released at the moment, not to mention the excellent gameplay, fun value and gritty dark atmosphere shown by the game keeping true to the Westwood style, but better. A jewel which should be in it's place with the other great TS mods, if not better, with a high feeling of authenticity and realism. The Mammoth Mark 2 is now something to be feared, as well as updates upon the Banshee to make it a superfast fighter releasing plasma bolts suited for anti-vehicle duty, with the Siren bomber releasing payloads of plasma bombs (I'll talk more about this below).

GDI and Nod both get a lot of new additions too, for example Nod gets the Devastator, which is essentially a Scorpion-like tank, despite being weak, is the late tech level answer to the MLRS packing a huge laser cannon on the back. Other additions include the Basilisk for Nod, a weak but potent piece of equipment that fires EMP missiles that delay attacks. As I mentioned above, the Siren bomber, which takes over from the Banshee's old role of fighter-bomber to simply being a fighter. Sleek and deadly, these sacrifice payload for speed but are still deadly once they get to use their plasma bombs, unlike the GDI Orca Bomber counterpart, which sacrifices speed for sheer power and more payload. The Harpy is also being in the process of being updated to become a feared dark humpback armed with lasers, revitalising the role for this unit.

GDI also get new units too, for example the Talos walker mech, armed with dual Flak cannons able to manage most airborne and ground threats, as well as the Orca Scout, a weavy little aircraft that can reduce your infantry into meat. Falcon bombers are also very useful tools which can also aid you. These supersonic bombers can dagger into the enemy and wipe out a line of units, taking damage when they finish the bombing run. The good news is they also come in two forms, one releases normal bombs, the other EMP charges, meaning you can enlist quite a couple of funky tactics.

You'll also have fun deploying commando tactics as well. Drop-pods belonging to GDI can allow you to deploy mutant commando strikes to wreck havoc on enemies by planting bombs on buildings, as well as anti-tank commandos armed with railguns. Nod isn't left out on the dark either though. Rather than utilising space-borne dropping, the female mutant Black Hands use portable cloaking devices and laser rifles, as well as planting bombs on buildings.

Super defences are also available, with the Obelisk of Harmony fit to defend an entire Nod base, and the GDI Railgun Emplacement also fit to defend a GDI base. Both suck up a lot of power though, so be careful about your stuff. Superweapons have also been notched to the max with Nod's atomic bomb which EMP's anything underneath it and incinerates, along with Nod's cluster missile which now has evil napalm qualities. GDI gets an improved Ion Cannon along with drop pods, meaning surgical strikes can be the downfall of many Nod commanders.

Remember the limpet drones? Don't let these fool you anymore. They've been updated into something slightly more.. effective. In one of the screenshots you can see the damage that they cause. It appears Nod has begun placing atomic devices in them, turning them into supreme mines. GDI has followed suite, turning their version of the drone soon into deadly EMP bombs.

This is one mod in which you will enjoy a lot, and play it again and again, because it's simply just clean fun, with massive battles and a true emphasis on strategy #Tongue.

I somehow agree with Mr Pokey, The nuke isn't ugly but it's not as great as the rest. (or maybe is just the ss as it's hard to make animations looks good on ss)

Because there has been no development in the Scrin in TSD.

According to that, there is some Scrin faction...or is it still only in test versions?

The Scrin have an effective Con-yard and power plant mixed with a barracks (just so you can actually make units). No harvester or anything else yet. You can make fiends and Tib Raptors. That's it - so as you can see, not much to shout about with the Scrin as of yet, although the buildings look really nice, as does the raptor.

Great balance, fun mod, almost as much fun as Total War. i look forward to the scrin being expanded. The only other mod under development in my opinion which shares the quality is Tiberian Odesssy.
