okay.. first off it's spelled defenSe.. with an S!

and stop adding "lol" to every post.

The concept is horrible. I'm not being mean, but if anyone wanted a tower defense they'd just get it from Tiberian Dawn. I've already posted on the landing tower in your previous topic.

Here are ways to improve:
-Start by taking bits and pieces of the existing TS structures and making new buildings from them.
-Look at how existing military structures are built.
-Textures, son! TEXTURES!

listen this is my second one from scratch i know ive looked threw them i just figured id be creative to see what i can do now and compare to when i get better i do this to see how i can get i deas and progress and maybe the next one wont be so bad if ya noticed i tried to give a ww2 look but to me it seems you dont have any creativeness you seem like you have to do it the way it has to be done man iam just having fun and learning so dont beat me up you people on this forum suckl all you do is put everyones work down iam trying ok give me a break and yeah iam a noob at this ok

By the way daTS defence is the standard English term and defense is the standard USA term both are acceptable, especially if his first langauge is not English...

By the I can only suggest looking at daTS post and please try and be a bit more formal or serious in your post with decent punctuation or no one will take you seriously.

First off, I"m not beating you up. I even gave you ways to improve. Learn to use those ways effectively. Secondly, accusing other, more respected members of the community of lack of creativeness isn't the most brilliant idea.

Maybe I'm just under-self-absorbed (though that is a bit of a contradicting thing to say) but is everyone giving themselves a little too much credit and behaving like "Hah, I'm leeter than you apparently, so you suck" attitude today?

I mean jeez, give him a break, hes new so it's not like he's even seen anything you may have done previously.

@ The SHP: Better but maybe a little too sharp, looks very pixelish. Try maybe blurring it ever so slightly. Also, show and in game, or in game simulation.

Its just a base model, I call it the NOD Cannon Emplacement, now its just a concept not even close to being done but its start. What i was going for this time was the look, i was trying to make it look more 3d with a shadow look so tell me what you think. Ohh and the color, dont mind that, it was eaiser for me to make it with the color to show that its more for NOD

Well the model is staying the same iam gonn grey scale it and remap the colors later but i wanna know if anybody can give me suggestions? it would help, i was actually thinking about adding another cannon to it and i was think of making like a rapid fire anti tank gun, iam most likely gonna have to make the base of the cannon bigger so it wont look lopsided lol

better but still needs work.

notes:

1.) study lighting effects. light should be emanating from some direction, look at TS buildings to know where this source should come from (normally it's north west)

2.) if you don't know how to make 3d stuff yet, then I suggest you make frameworks first, then put in the basic colors (with lighting included), texturize (with photoshop), touch it up to refine details, then transform into SHP.

here, I made something in paint very quickly to give you an idea... MS Paint can be very useful... trust me Smile

sorry if it's crude... it's just a quick job.. and the lighting on the roof is actually wrong #Tongue

Sorry, but is this a good thing to do? iam making the turret seperate from the base and making the turret a voxel that way itll save me time and i dont have to go threw the hassle of making 30 + frames ya know

actually that's what most turrets (for units) are.. It would be much better to use voxels, but you do lose a bit of the ability to detail it.

download PPMsite.com's finest service: the Voxel Section Editor III. Very Happy you can make primitive 3d objects with it.

It's very easy to use, most people learn how to use it within 10 minutes; it's just like using Lego™.

You can do all sorts of stuff with it, most notably vehicles, turrets, mechs and even buildings.

i have just downloaded it thank you very much for telling me the program that i needed, ive fooled around with it a lil bit but can i creater my own from scratch or can i just modify my own, if you guy can show me on this site were i can get a quick tutorial that would be great. i know how to open voxel file and such with the xcc mixer so i am good their? but 1 question can i make the pictures a little bit more clear i mean everything is zoomed up to the screen lol thanks again guys
