Just a little help needed...

Ok, I really really do apologize for this, if this is posted somewhere else on the forums and I was simply unable to find it I really am sorry. Just trying to get a little help to get me started Confused

Well, I downloaded the XCC utilities, opened the XCC mixer but am unable to figure out how to get rules.ini heh. If someone could try to give me a very detailed description of how to get to this file and what utilities I need to use It would be much appreciated.

Also, how do I utilize the file to have the mods apply only to a certian map rather then the whole game? Do I add the edited rules.ini to the map in final alert 2 via the edit> edit ini menu?

Again, I am sorry if this is posted elsewhere and I hope I posted it in the right forum heh. Thank you in advance for anyone who takes the time to help.

i can't help you with the rules.ini because i haven't done much with it but to edit just a map open up the map file in a text editor (i use edit plus but notepad/wordpad works too.) and edit it there.

But if I wanted to add things to the map that are not already in the configuration I would need a copy of rules.ini wouldn't I?

Search for Deezires ini guides - fairly comphrehensive list of tags sorted by ini. Also over at ModEnc, with more info there. The only utility you need for ini editing is notepad #Tongue
